We could easily be looking at a re-shaped Republican party that is far more left in the next few years. Healthcare, for instance, is only getting harder and harder for Republicans to take away. They couldn't do it for 8 years until Obama, and even when they had the trifecta they couldn't do it. Eventually they'll get on board with a public option. We can bring people to the left with someone like Biden/Kamala better than we can scaring people with far-left socialism buzz words. Yeah, changing a country for the better, let alone the most powerful one in history, let alone the one with the most problems of discrimination in the first world, requires a long-winded plan to first create the context for change, and then creating change itself. I can't even imagine seriously believing this, after the Dems have been adhering to this strategy and failing for decades. The Democrats have been shifting to the right to chase after the Republicans for 40 years. The Republicans keep shifting even further to the right, and the Republican voters follow them. This strategy just crashed and burned right in front of our eyes, and you still just can't drop the conventional wisdom long enough to realize it. You keep making excuses for conservative Dems who outright refuse to do anything to solve any of the institutional problems that are literally killing poor and working class people in this country, and it's getting you nothing but the conditions for a new Trump in 2024. Politics isn't some sort of game. It's a matter of life and death for millions of desperate people. We don't have 12 years to wait for some mythical moderate wave that will never come. Climate change will have irreversibly progressed by that point. For instance, a public option instead of straight to M4A. Criminal Justice Reform instead of Defunding the police. There’s no evidence to back any of this up at all. You’re just repeating what you’ve heard on CNN and MSNBC. Biden lost Florida because he gave Trump a month and a half long head start on advertising and flat out gave up on Latino outreach. He literally said that he didn’t see Latinos as being a part of their path to victory and told Latino activists to vote for Trump with they criticized his record on deportations. He had almost no turnout or door-knocking strategy anywhere in the country. Trump calling Biden a socialist had absolutely nothing to do with Biden being poison for down-ballot races all across the country, where candidates did exactly what you’re saying they should do, backed by hundreds of millions of dollars, and lost spectacularly. The “socialist” policies that you claim would scare voters off are extremely popular according to all of the exit data. I’m done. This is a waste of my time.
