Since I have heard allegations on Reddit that young people overwhelmingly voted for Mondale and what not, the actual figures are different. In 1984, Reagan got 61% of the 18-24 age bracket. It was only in the 2004 election that we started seeing older people voting for the Republican, while younger voters voted for the Democrat. As the boomers continue to die off, things will turn more and more blue. The only way Republicans survive is if they shift hard to the left over the next decade or two.
