Yes and also the Grateful Dead had Deadheads and the Beatles had Beatlemaniacs, I think fandom names have been going on forever

I wonder if any one dissing Little Monsters as a fanbase name has actually experienced the start of Gaga's career and saw her live. The Monster Ball was pretty powerful and that name created a true connection. 

Sure every nickname sounds corny, that's inherently true. But the loving way Gaga adopted this nickname was so genuine of her bound with her fans.

I'm a Deadhead and proud of it.  The name is even in a song, The Boys Of Summer by Don Henley "I saw a Deadhead sticker on a Cadillac".
