You're a fan of the OG material it sounds!

Madonna was everywhere when she started so I followed her from the time of her very first single.  Exactly the same with Britney.  Other artists I followed from their start are Jewel, The Beatles, and Bob Dylan.

I think the songs you hear first seem more special, so I like Madonna's first four albums the most.  It may be a nostalgia thing.

I live outside the space time continuum.

My big Madonna phase that lead me to consume her entire catalogue happened in 2015 when I was 14, and I had some questionable opinions then (ie, if you would’ve asked me then I would’ve said Hard Candy :messga:).
Nowadays, Ray Of Light and Erotica are her two career masterpieces, so I recommend these most.

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

Is this a "best of" album:flower:

It’s the best greatest hits album of all time. Beating ABBA imo.

I guess it depends what kind of music you're into!!

From a critical acclaim perspective, Ray of Light is undoubtedly her greatest work so far. Absolutely fab from start to finish. Visually, musically, lyrically, it is Madonna at her artistic peak.

In terms of pure pop music, you can't go wrong with True Blue, or any of the 80's albums, really.

Personally, my first and favourite Madonna album will always be Erotica. I was about 8 when I first heard it (probs too young :huntyga:), and I was entranced by it. It stands out as a dark horse in her discography, and is perhaps her most underrated work. Not quite up there with the pop heights and commercial success of her 80's work, but not yet critically acclaimed like her work in the late 90's/early 2000's. It is Madonna at her most rebellious, and I love everything about it. Not to mention the subsequent world tour (The Girlie Show) is Madonna's best tour, hands down. If you want to see a pop star at their absolute peak, please watch the performance for 'Holiday' from that tour. The energy is unbelievable!

Hard Candy is criminally underrated! It is the first era I experienced firsthand though tbf, so it could be nostalgia talking :ally:

Try Like A Prayer.  Several of her classic songs are on that album.

But to date, Rebel Heart is my favorite. The demos are ICONIC! THIS GIVES ME CHILLS! Maoonna and I are both Shitzhu's, if anyone is familiar with Primal Astrology!

For me Inside Out (Demo) is one of her best songs ever. I'm never gonna forgive her for throwing all the demos in the trash like that.

I'm not a hardcore Madonna fan, but she has some gens hidden like Masterpiece, Isaac, Music (Inferno), It's So Cool (Demo). Her best works were Confessions and Erotica

SO I never really got into madonna. I liked Like A Prayer, Material Girl, Like A Virgin, and Beautiful Stranger throughout childhood as a kid, but never listened to her music tbh!

2 years ago I streamed Ray of Light and was... Bewildered and enthralled at the glory. Sky Fits Heaven, Frozen, Nothing Really Matters, Power of Goodbye, Ray of Light... Just magnificent tbqmfh.

Well the past month, for whatever reason, I started to listen to more of her work. Since I loved Ray of Light, I decided to start there and see how she evolved from there. I've listened to Music, Confessions on a Dance Floor, and as of today American Life... And I have to say-- WHY was I in the dark for so long!?! I think I just disliked her bc of the Gaga feud tbh. But like yeah--shes incredible. Sorry, Let It Will Be, X-Static Process, Jump, I Deserve it... so many more. Just amazing lol.

I love all 4 of these albums SO MUCH. But I do wonder, amongst her diehard fans, are these considered her best albums? Is this the best she gets? Are other ones considered the best? I wanna know whether I should go back or forward from Confessions at this point.

Anyway-- educate me, please!

For an OG Gaga stan such as yourself, check out the imagery in these early-mid 90s music videos.  People forget about this era of Madonna's...but it was so ahead of its time and I think a great era to show Gaga fans especially ones who love "old" Gaga

EDIT:  Also this link I just below which is an aesthetic-as-hell commercial she did in 1995 for Takara in Japan.  I totally could have seen Gaga doing a commercial like this back in like '09 (sorry it won't embed because it's not Youtube)
