Sarah Jefferey criticizes Original Charmed Stars 4 their opposition

They have a right to be angry tbh. So many reboots and revivals lately, and the Charmed cast who spent 4-8 years of their lives on the original beloved show didn’t even get asked to be apart of the new show. That would piss off almost anyone. These reboots rub me the wrong way, it’s almost like modern audiences can’t watch anything more than fifteen years old. And the Charmed reboot clearly wanted to have its cake and eat it too, by doing a lot of its own thing but using the Charmed brand and fandom to gain an audience. I love Sarah (at least from what I’ve seen from her performance in The Descendants franchise) but she is kind of barking up the wrong tree. Let’s not forget how much the new show dissed the original Charmed by basically calling the actresses old and the original anti-feminist.

This is what drives me up a wall. So many of these reboots lack creativity and simply “update” a tv show, sometimes it can be entertaining but modern critics sometimes use it as an excuse to talk about where the original fell short without taking into account the cultural context of the original show and what it did for its time. They’ve been talking about a Buffy reboot for so long and it gives me a feeling of dread, a lot of these modern teen shows just don’t do it for me and a Buffy reboot without Sarah Michelle Gellar is a sad idea.

As a POC I will never understand why some of us need to turn everything into a race issue. Just take the criticism of the show and roll with it. Don’t try and turn into into a racial situation. Seems desperate and attention seeking to me.

With POC artists like Michaela Coel and her show I May Destroy You literally changing the television landscape or the complete revisioning of The Watchmen with the HBO adaptation starring Regina King, it's... hard to get behind this girl trying to shield her poorly reviewed teen drama reboot with it's POC cast

omg I hope not. At least not for a couple more decades. The original series is almost impeccable and is a classic.

With Charmed some of the seasons (especially the later ones) are a bit weak. It didn't need a reboot either but when they announced it I was excited and didn't mind it at all.

Then I actually watched it. Not a fan.

I’ve gone through this drama before. Childs play fan here and the original team trashed the 2019 film so much. Original cast mates can be so bitter when projects they’ve worked in get remade. It’s honestly very ugly and disrespectful to those who are trying to make something work. It makes them look bitter and desperate.

I mean I've watched it I like it but I just don't like that they heavily rely on cgi. What makes Charmed my favorite is just the practical effects and prosthetics. Everything now has to have cgi and i'm like eh. Anyways nothing wrong with what rose said, it's her opinion and to most people it probably does suck, but for me it's something to watch. What does suck is the damn PLL reboot from HBO Max. Like it's literally been 3 years with a spinoff in between. Like at least let it age.

Two things:

First, Rose is problematic af but this wasn't about race. 
Second, why does everyone expect celebrities to always be positive? Sure, it's always good to be kind and support each other, but if someone doesn't like something they should be allowed to say so.

Rosé and Holly have every right to be angry because they werent even asked to be a part of the show they dissed them and called them old actresses and their calling the original anti feminist so i think that gives Rose and Holly the right to defend themselfes also the woman mentioning that these atresses are poc implies that she is trying to make Holly and Rose look like racists wich is unfair to me because im sure it has nothing to with this

If you think about all the shows you mentioned they are all basically reboots. 

Buffy is a reboot if the Buffy movie. Smallville is a reboot of Superboy. Desperate Housewives is basically The First Wives Club, Grey's Anatomy is basically ER. 

I don't know what a One Tree Hill is.

If your old comment is refering to this “I will never understand what is fierce, funny, or feminist in creating a show that basically says the original actresses are too old to do a job they did 12 years ago,” Combs previously wrote." then that sounds like that actress is making an assumption. Many reboots are made without the original cast. When something is typically rebooted, it's done for a new generation with redone plots/characters. I'm sure they would've been asked to make guest appearances later down the line but that seems unlikely as they continue burning bridges. 

And it's one thing to defend yourself (say your piece and go) and it's another to constantly talk about and trash it.
