You can enjoy an artist and still admit this at the same time, they're not contradicting thoughts. And as others have already noted, it might not have even been up to the artist -- the label/etc. may be making these choices irrespective of the artist's wishes. They are heavily, heavily manufactured and have zero personality outside of being an artist. I felt like even though this was always a thing, during Gaga’s reign artists always had a personality and it wasn’t as evident that they were just pushed as a ‘product’ the way they are now.
