Spotify Canvases?

I’ve noticed that Gaga barely has any Spotify canvases up on her account and I think it’s strange?

Other than all of Chromatica, the only songs on her Spotify that have canvases are:

LoveGame

Paparazzi

Poker Face

Bad Romance

Shallow

Always Remember Us This Way

:bear: like ummmmm why do two of her biggest number 1 hits JUST DANCE & BORN THIS WAY not have Spotify canvases???

all they’d have to do is insert some visuals from the music videos! Like y’all, it’s wild to me that tracks like Alejandro, Telephone, Judas, You & I, The Edge of Glory, Applause, Perfect Illusion, Joanne, or even MILLION REASONS :huntyga: don’t have canvases?!?

her visuals are so iconic and I just don’t understand why her biggest hits are ignored like that!

I turned that option off because I like looking at the album cover :haroon: but I hate how The Fame canvases are from the mini film. :bear:

Chromatica is her first big streaming pop album so I hope she continues using visuals for future albums.

Yeah, I've always wondered why that's the case that only selective few songs in her discography have those. Either have all of them should have one or none.

Regardless, she's still doing pretty great on Spotify being the 13th most listened to artist in the world atm and being the top 5 highest streamed female artist for some time now. Not bad for a once-deemed streaming poison :haroon:

Imagine her streaming power if the stream era began during Born This Way.

What is the purpose of them in the first place?

You can either watch a video or listen to the song. Who is playing a song on their Spotify phone app and staring at a 4 second looped image the entire time?

They’re really fun for when you share a song to your Instagram story.

Two words: user experience (UX) :yennefer:

It helps bind the audio and visual imagery components of a song together to create an engaging audio-visual experience

Some find it distracting, but most find it pleasing and it has been known to increase listener(user) retention

It’s a nice visual to accompany the song, not that deep. You could ask the same thing about covers, who needs them, is anyone listening to the music while looking at the cover?

Turn it on in your Settings. You'll find a toggle switch for "Canvas" there

Apple or Android?

To the cover of an album?

Well yes, you say what’s the use of Spotify canvases if no one will watch a video on loop. I compared it to an album cover, barely anyone listen to an album while looking at a still image. It’s just a nice visual to accompany the songs.
