Well she blew her chance to go experimental and bring a new sound into the limelight when she scrapped Sophie and decided for BloodPop to exec. prod. Chromatica, but I would still like if she did a really experimental album with Sophie, Arca, Boys Noize and etc.

Other than that, I'm here for an album a la When The Pawn or Extraordinary Machine; or one with pop rock and songs like You and I

I like dancin', and ponies....

It’s just she had 5 whole solo albums of dance pop music :bear: If it’s another dance album hopefully she expands and does something less electronic music.

RockGa please. Perfect Illusion plus some heavier sounds would be perfect. But if I had to choose one of these options, I’d choose adult contemporary. That will change in a few weeks i am sure.

Imagine an album full of MANiCUREs :nooo:

I would prefer it if she kept making electronic music, but instead of going to the past and reviving old house music and relying on nostalgia, I would love to see her take on the PC Music/Hyperpop sounds that have been at the forefront of innovation in pop music for the last few years.

I think she would bring something unique to that sound (weird and experimental are in her blood), and I think an artist of her caliber embracing that sound could be something very exciting.

Why are people so thirsty for flavourless bland 'adult contemporary'. She can still show off her voice without such an unimaginative sludge of a non-genre.

There are endless genres. While I'd be pretty content if she kept doing electronic dance pop forever, I would be happy with literally anything that's not "adult contemporary" ballads. (As long as she writes them herself, we don't need another 4 year covers/tributes era).

Not us! For me it could b sourcandyga from now on! But the gp on the other hand....

I’d love something different like dance-pop with heavy jazz influences or pop with heavy metal influences

Yep. Why not invent a new genre ? The very concept of genres is really just a conversation piece anyway, isn't it ? Somebody makes an album and we insist on putting a label on it. Never mind the label, is it any good ? Chromatica is another dance pop album, but it has its own sound.

Having said all that, let's do some labelling. I do want the piano album at some point, and I also want the ARUTW album. I'm not a metal fan, so I don't want that, but then if she did do a metal album maybe I'd like it, because every album is different and has the potential to be liked, regardless of its label.

I think Gaga likes to keep the status quo, in the safe zone, at least nowadays.

I want the classic guitar and piano pop album. Like "Look What I Found" or anything Adele.

But anyone with a decent voice can do a "classic" album like that.

Gaga has an imagination that other people don't have. She has a solid knowledge of and interest in a huge variety of different art and music styles and genres, both old and new, from which she can draw inspiration. She is open minded enough to appreciate music/art at its extremes and is bold enough to take risks. This combined with her classical training and natural talent are what make her so special.

I can't understand why people would want her to do safe, generic, inoffensive "classic" AC music that anyone could make.

Not pure R&B, but LoveGame is an electro-R&B song!

I am curious, @Davian @joannethenight - why LMAOs? Care to explain? This is clear misusing of reactions!

Then again, when she gets the songs right, it hardly seems to matter that what she's singing about - fame, flings, being "beautiful dirty rich" - is shallow. 'Love Game', 'Paparazzi', 'I Like It Rough' and future single 'Poker Face' are every bit as effective as 'Just Dance': bombastic electro-R&B monsters that are almost impossible not to dance to.
