27monster27 12,408
So, as we know Lady Gaga used Chromatica as a way to heal from the issues in her life. In the video, we can clearly see all of the tribes present that Lady Gaga debuted with Stupid Love. So this got me thinking, what if the video represents her dreaming up Chromatica? It almost seems as if her crying at the beginning of the video, while yes about the accident, is actually an analogy for her rebirth. When babies are born, 99% of the time they cry. For me it felt not just like she was crying about the accident, but she was crying as her birth into a place where she is on the path to getting better. I mean think, she would have been taken to the hospital, which is a place literally with the purpose of helping people get better. Sine From Above playing at the end pretty much confirms this for me. he/him/his

OMonster 14,664
Yes, this is almost certainly the point of the Chromatica symbols on her forehead. The car accident is a metaphor for mental pain - as demonstrated by how it triggered hallucinations and reinterpretations of her surroundings - and we know Chromatica is about healing from that pain. So, when she is 'brought back to life' by the paramedic, it is in reference to how Gaga overcame her traumas (thanks to '911', her medication, as demonstrated by the emergency services saving her), and found a happier place... Chromatica. The whole video, in my opinion, is a metaphor for how mental pain can be just as bad as physical pain, and that 911 is still needed to save you - but in the form of medication, not the emergency services. subtext / fantasy
