I love dis video bcos of the symbolisms....but at the end the setting is not in chromatica? True. The majority of the video is a hallucination in her mind.. she has described Chromatica as a state of mind in her brain though.. so I guess technically the video is in Chromatica! That was a vertigo shot, not greenscreen. DPs use it to make some scenes feel more trippy, which makes sense cuz it's a dream sequence.
wetasspussy 609
Her best video since g.u.y It's so perfect omg although i'm still very confused over the storyline was she in a accident while under the influence of drugs which made her have such dreams? I need answers😭😭 So much time on the other side Waiting for you to wake up So much time on the other side Waiting for you to wake up
destructivelove 563
I really feel like the transition was a miss. I know the video was supposed to have a hidden meaning kept for the end, but imagine a HQ car crash (like the LWYMDD car scene) impacting right as the transition goes into 911, and it warping Gaga to this land. I feel like video wise, the transitions between scenes could have been a bit more inventive and thought out, considering videos like Break My Heart are baciallt the standard today. But I still like what we got
Cybikitty 1,647
This is possibly one of my favourite Gaga videos now, I know we were all expecting something giga-futuristic but what we got is genuinely art

ROM is also super fine but this, in my humble and personal opinion, pure ART. The fact that I never criticized it and I liked it the first watch a lot. It was just so weirdly shot it caught my attention. And the budget felt smaller than ROM because of the locations and lighting/post process and VFX. SchwineLove 1,374
this absolutely gonna catch attention. the rawness, unpolishedness, "amateurishness" and the lack of filter, make it so visually digestible. the lack of fancy cut or editing, it feels like Akerlund video without the crazy editing, which is so comfortable to watch and maybe not edgy enough, but you don't think with all the elaborate styling and symbolism the director would just not choose that kind of editing or filter as an artistic choice. maybe it was intended to make it as honest and direct as possible, while keeping the needed amount of Gaga-ness. It's something different for Gaga and anyone else.

It's a brilliant video! The way I interpret this video is that this is her experience with PTSD (repeating images in her head from a traumatic event), escapism from reality into fantasy, and a love letter to our front line workers. A couple shots that stood out to me on first watch were the guy banging his head on the pillow and when Gaga starts ascending and gets yanked back down. In the first one, the guy keeps hitting his head on the pillow and that probably represents the repeating image in her mind of the guy hitting his head on the dashboard during the crash... that'd be pretty traumatic to see irl. And when she starts floating up with that cute halo-like headpiece...its like shes ascending to heaven, but then gets yanked back down by the EMT workers because they save her life. Idk I could go on about my interpretations but I really appreciate the storytelling with this MV. Visuals are definitely different than expected but thematically it still fits This makes so much sense to me thanks So much time on the other side Waiting for you to wake up So much time on the other side Waiting for you to wake up
