thehanyo 4,251
Gaga is working with some of the biggest directors this era, so of course the visuals will be completely different in each video. We should be so lucky that after ASIB, they want to work with her! Tarsem has had this idea for 25 years!

The artistic vision, the fashion choices, the way the scenes are shot. It's really good. I will say that I don't know why Gaga chose that particular scenery, like the old-timey huts and castles giving Midsommar vibes. I think there could have been a way to take the art that inspired many of these scenes and modernized it to fit the concept of Chromatica better. That's my only criticism. It's soo interesting, i've watched it like 10 times already! i think its the director vision when its come to scenery... he's armenian

PoshLife 17,002
As much as I loved it the first time, watching it a second time is next-level. When you watch it the first time, you're able to immediately spot several parallels between the scenes in her unconscious and the waking world (like the shadowy figure on the horse being in the billboard, or the fact that the woman with the red cross and snake is an EMT). But when you watch it a second time, you're able to identify so many more, like the oxygen mask being applied to that one guy which I didn't even see my first time watching, the flowing red dress being her bleeding leg that they staunch, and the man in black (I assume a personification of death?) grabbing for the body in the woman's arms. I love that they made a video that almost forces you to watch it multiple times to fully appreciate it. I'm definitely going to be thinking about this one for a long time. Look at this poor greenscreen in the beginning. Still a great video !! ⚔️💖 THE PAID PARTNERSHIPS CONTINUE💖⚔️

amazinglyjon 264
I was soooo confused until the ending.. and that's where everything clicked. It's a brilliant video! The way I interpret this video is that this is her experience with PTSD (repeating images in her head from a traumatic event), escapism from reality into fantasy, and a love letter to our front line workers. A couple shots that stood out to me on first watch were the guy banging his head on the pillow and when Gaga starts ascending and gets yanked back down. In the first one, the guy keeps hitting his head on the pillow and that probably represents the repeating image in her mind of the guy hitting his head on the dashboard during the crash... that'd be pretty traumatic to see irl. And when she starts floating up with that cute halo-like headpiece...its like shes ascending to heaven, but then gets yanked back down by the EMT workers because they save her life. Idk I could go on about my interpretations but I really appreciate the storytelling with this MV. Visuals are definitely different than expected but thematically it still fits imo!
