The weirdness is very similiar but presented at different times and of course it looks and feels at the surface not exactly the same because of different production work. But in its aura and core the videos have lots of common. 911 video for me feels like a fantasy Eurasian-Russian folktale festival or so. There are Christian references, Russian kokoshnik, Alice-like -fantasy visuals. Both videos are dreams/halucinatons which were experienced because of traumata. ArtpopAct2 2,672 Posted September 19, 2020 Share Posted September 19, 2020 Y’all I still can’t believe she served this hard IMAGINE if this was the lead (it shouldn’t have been in an “introduce the concept of the album” standpoint) but it would’ve gotten SO much attention if positioned as a comeback video. SL - cute, didn’t hate it but it didn’t really move me much. ROM - amazing visuals and outfits which is one half of what I love about Gaga’s videos, but lacking the weirdness and storyline which is the other half. I will say it was exactly what it needed to be though. Replayable, eye candy and fun. Definitely not trying to take away from the VMA noms it deserved, but... 911 - amazing visuals and outfits, weird and unsettling but in a COMPLETELY different way than her older visuals (more surreal creepiness instead of dark and grotesque), and a beautiful and deep storyline.
