Thats truly part of her. A part of her? Like I said, Joanne was a STUNNING album I truly love and understand the meaning behind it, but those months performing PI in a crop top, the MR VIDEO, and the whole crying in the hat? No. September to November 2016 was a TERRIBLE time for Little Monsters. Clearly something was wrong and the Zane Lowe interview earlier this year, revealed that Gaga was going trough pain at that time. Iâm not dragging her, Iâve always defended her and will continue to do so.

But how is going through pain make the album seem inauthentic or not part of her? The entire album is about her healing and sheâs expressing a lot of that pain. The same is done in Chromatica with a more upbeat sound. She chose to go that route and chose to express her sentiments in this way. You just donât seem to like the Joanne era and thatâs fine. You donât have to like everything she does nor be a fan of every genre of music whether it be her or any artist. But to say it was a terrible time and imply itâs inauthentic or not a part of her is not true.

I loved the Joanne era, but these first few months were horrible and I think a lot of Monsters secretly agree. I used to defend her during this time, and she didnât do anything wrong, but now that itâs over and Gaga herself even admitted it was a hard time for her, I feel more comfortable talking about it. It does not remotely feel like pure Pop Ga. This. Chromatica sounds very vocally challenging (I'm not a specialist in this so I could be wrong, but that's the impression I have), and is much more mature and cohesive than her previous albums. Besides, the music is out of this world () and very nostalgic to me, considering I grew up listening to eurodance and 80's and 90's hits. That being said, I would enjoy an album full of ballads or glam rock songs by her. It suits her voice and style very well (she could remain extravagant) and she's already proved she can succeed with it (see Shallow, Always Remember Us This Way, Million Reasons, etc.). Helix 1,357
Even if she doesn't stick with dance music, I hope she at least sticks with electronic music. There's so much for her to explore in that realm, even if she wants to do a "stripped back" album again at some point. You can still be authentic and vulnerable while making dance / electronic music, especially if it's something more experimental, and I hope she ventures into that. Especially if it means she'll work with SOPHIE more ( ), or even if she worked with Imogen Heap or something

OMonster 14,213
Personally, I think that, because of what's happened to the Chromatica era, she'll want to stick with dance music for her next album, too, so as to 'recover' from what has been an extremely sad and isolated time. I was surprised to hear by how much making pop music lifted her spirits over the past few years, and I expect she'll want to do that again. I also think, and this might just be wishful thinking, that her next album will come far sooner than what her usual schedule would suggest. I could see an album in early 2022, for example, as opposed to late 2023. I think Taylor's 'folklore' has shown that major artists do not need, and in fact, shouldn't, stick to the 'traditional' 2-3 year cycle. What's more, COVID-19, I think, will have altered Gaga's future quite considerably. I am sure she was planning a solid era for Chromatica, that would lead into the Gucci film, and then possibly some time off for a family. But now that's all been disrupted, I think she'll wait an extra year or so to start a family, to make room for an album that she can actually promote and enjoy before she wants to dial things down a bit. subtext / fantasy

flyaway 15,350
I don't mind her making us dance, but it would be cool to have a different type of music to dance to. For example, this type of rock disco r&b fussion like this masterpiece. Â
