It was the most censored episode of a TV show in television history at the time.

Madonna purposefully acted rebellious on the show as a way to fight against TV censorship.

Madonna also overstayed her time of the show, which caused later acts to be cut.

Madonna has never apologized for this interview (which I love), and she has defended herself multiple times.

That’s also showing a really hypocritical side of America... like, they all have guns under their pillows and no one bats an eye, but they’re unable to hear the word **** late on television  It’s never a good sign when a society considers words more dangerous than weapons.
