I feel Shallow is too new to be considered a “classic”

Shallow is new, but it already has over a billion streams on Spotify. Plus when you search "Lady Gaga" on YouTube, for the past couple of years the first result has always been "Lady Gaga Bradley Cooper." The song is huuuuge

It is huge and will be a classic someday but I think today’s not that day :huntyga:

Agree that those five are pretty much a lock. If we narrow it down to top 3 it becomes a little more difficult. I would say in order:

1. Shallow

2. Born This Way

3. Bad Romance

Bad Romance (her anthem)

Poker Face (her true break out)

Born This Way (her core)

Shallow (her comeback)

the last one is hard. I'd go for Paparazzi, as it's kind of an early anthem for her, but mosly a widely popular track that is still Gaga enough to be relevant.

Just Dance

Poker Face

Bad Romance

Born This Way

Shallow

There just isn't any other sensible answer. No single in her career comes close to the impact these 5 had.

Shallow is a monster hit that's doing crazy well in recurring numbers, it's on its way to outselling all her other singles worldwide. It's not too early to call it a classic. Just give it 5 to 10 more years to decide if it'll be the signature song or not.

Just Dance is also a huge and remembered hit that was her breakthrough. I will agree Poker Face outshined it. It's still a classic though, with the best chartrun in her career and great recurring streams, even better than BTW. It's always the song to be re-added to radios when Gaga releases new material, alongside Bad Romance and [insert 1 or 2 other big hits]. It's comfortably in the top 5.

If you wanna talk top 6, yeah, an argument can be made for Paparazzi, Telephone, The Edge Of Glory and Applause. Alejandro and Rain On Me come close as well.

I'd replace Born This Way with Poker Face on that list. Shallow, Bad Romance and Poker Face are her biggest and most remembered hits to the GP.

Born This Way is in this weird spot, where it's not nearly as big as her other classics, but it's the song most responsible for Gaga's public image.

Flawless

1. Bad Romance

2. Poker Face

3. Shallow

4. Born This Way

5. Paparazzi

in this order. Just Dance, Telephone, Alejandro and maybe Applause are close to the 5th place.

the scars on my mind are on replay.
