I think we are all attracted by Gaga's confidence and talent. I truly think she connected with so many people, specifically teenagers and children who felt out of place and weird. She made it okay to be weird and be yourself.

For every generation there needs to be an artist that stands out and spreads a message of bravery and uniqueness and this connects so many people to them. I know for others and some older generations it was Madonna for them.  I truly believe this message and bond with their fans makes them standout from the other artists. Their influence on pop culture and on children's lives is just amazing. I'm happy to be stanning Gaga.

Can anyone post the other time/s she's praised Gaga?

So, through that, and then artists like Lady Gaga, Freddie Mercury, David Bowie – seeing their artistry growing up really kicked me up the arse to be like “I want to do something like this. I feel like there’s something unique in me, as there is something unique in them”. I want to bring my piece of art and birth into the world.

Born in Hackney, 2000 ́s artists like Lil'Kim, Missy Elliott, or Lady Gaga gave her confidence to do what she does, she is Bree Runway. She is right at the top and is pushing boundaries creating her sound.

Which artist's music videos really impacted you when you watched them?

Lady Gaga. The first video I saw of hers was "Just Dance," and I just thought she was so cool. I don't mind when women sell sex and stuff like that, we all do it. But hers was just so artsy and so fashion. I was like, oh my God, I love this. This is special. And then it was music videos like "Marry the Night". Marry the Night was like a 13-minute music video. It was like a film because there's so many different scenes, monologues. And "Bad Romance", I was like, is she kidding me? Yeah, she's great.

But with age and just being exposed to more artists, like Lady Gaga, Grace Jones, because I saw pieces of myself in them, they kind of inspired me to just go for it no matter what people think about you. Some people think they're crazy, some people think they're amazing, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter, because they're still icons."

Her reference pool is limitless: she counts Lady Gaga as a top inspiration and bucket list collaborator (“The video would be sickening”) and the jewels of early 2000s MTV as inspiration—Kelis, Britney, Busta Rhymes, Pharrell. Then there’s “a lot of Highlife music, ‘cause I’m from Ghana,” she explains.

4) who are your biggest musical influences?

Grace Jones, Lil Kim, Freddy Mercury, Lady Gaga! I feel like if they all somehow all magically linked up and had a kid it would be me.

8) have you met anyone and been totally starstruck?

Funny one actually, I didn’t actually meet her but I went to Paris to watch my sister strut her stuff down the Victoria Secret runway, and guess who was ushering the girls down the runway? My ultimate queen Lady Gaga. As soon she appeared through the smoke my jaw literally dropped and tears started flooding out of my eyes as soon as she sang the line “you’re giving me a million reasons...” Surreal experience.

Inspired by pop videos and fashion from the ’80s, Bree’s intentions are “[for] all girls especially black girls be able to stand up and say NO I AM A FREAK, you can be a Lady Gaga or a Kate Bush too… you can be crazy, wild, colourful, sexy and ooze hoe fashions… you don’t have to fall into this set boring pathway.”

And with many more to come :vegas:

There is more actually, I went to the 4th page on Google, I got tired :selena: Just try "Bree Runway Lady Gaga".

When I say she's a STAN :vegas:  She posts her on her story all the time as well.

Its so weird to realize most of us, the ones inspired by Gaga back in the day were teenagers and now we are around the same age she was back then and we are also starting out our lives and its our turn to make the most out of our lives and being inspired by her, some of us were definitely influenced in the decisions we started to make career wise and now, 12 years later, we hear so many people of our generation say ‘Lady Gaga inspired me’ and its just so cool, and I think we’ll keep hearing this more and more. Isn’t it mindblowing to think tho? Wow, its our turn now to make the dreams we started dreaming of because of Gaga, come to life?
