BUtterfield 8 41,281
Ratings are in for the annual awards show, which went on Sunday despite the challenge of social distancing. According to Variety, the show drew 6.4 million viewers across all ViacomCBS platforms during the simulcast, a 5% drop from 2019. That number includes the pre-show, main event, post-show and encores; no figures were available for only the two-hour primetime broadcast. By comparison, last year’s event — including the two-hour primetime show itself, hosted by comedian Sebastian Maniscalco — drew an audience of 6.8 million for all programming. The 2019 primetime event itself attracted 4.9 million total viewers. https://nypost.com/2020/08/31/vmas-2020-ratings-drop-5-to-6-4m-viewers-across-platforms/

tomsches 17,365
The vmas have been trash for a decade and nobody cares for them anymore. I don't know why this fanbase suddenly thinks so highly of it just because gaga performed.

Gagaloo911 12,959
I'm interested in seeing the figure just for the VMAs main show itself for this year. Last year it was 4.9 million as the article itself states, whereas including the preshow, red carpet, etc it was 6.8 million.

Ronnie 5,817
And some of you were saying there was going to be a huge increase in viewership because of Covid and people not having anything else better to watch.
