@CrownClown there's just something about a white "LMAO"ing a black person's opinion on this matter. care to elaborate on what's so funny? cause i got time today

Some users don’t understand that LMAO and SAD reacting comments are indirect subliminal racist actions.

Choose other battles to fight, this is just ridiculous.

Maybe you should take your own advice instead of telling a Black person that they’re wrong about something related to Black culture :reductive:

It seems like you can't be white and have an opinion on race relations. :yennefer:

This is such a useless conversation people:billie:

Personally I see it as a tribute to other cultures, people just want something to be offended by

Was just about to actually. Even you saying that you're black (in this case) is just too much. Get a grip. I'm all about equality, BLM, LGBTQ+ and so on.

But in this particular case, is just ridiculous.

She's is not approlriating anyone's cultures, she is celebrating it. I'd dare to say celebrating it.

Choose other battles to fight, this is just ridiculous.

Think the other way around, maybe she is promoting black culture?

Whatever, peace out

ok first of all, don't tell me which battles to fight. black people's opinions on this whether they are offended or not, are not ridiculous and you don't get to tell black people how to feel about race-related issues.

Do I think this hairstyle choice is a bit tone deaf during this time? yes. And that's all I was saying. I never said she was practicing cultural appropriation with my original comment. Because, I also see why some black people would NOT find it offensive and that's ok too because I am not Jamaican and it's not for me to tell people from Jamaica how to feel about a white woman wearing something from their culture.

It was jarring for many black people to see her with that hairstyle and it's an outcome that she had to expect, that's all my original comment meant.

White people shouldn’t be dominating a conversation about race relations, and more importantly, shouldn’t be silencing or telling Black or other POC people that they’re wrong

Sorry, but this statement needs some limitations. Surely it can't always amount to subliminal racism?

White, black, white, black, white, black.

In this case, you're the first one making a difference. Smh

Everybody can have an opinion on a topic despite their own race. If people don’t want white individuals commenting on something, then simply don’t post it lol, naturally any human being is going to have an opinion on what is posted no matter what colour their skin is. It seems to me that some people on here would like segregation and would encourage a POC only section. It’s silly to expect everybody that is white to stay quiet and not express their views

I understand your point and agree with it to an extent. But a white person should be able to tell another person that they don't agree or that they are wrong. But with a respectful dose of deference if it is a sensible white person.

Silencing... Well that shouldn't be allowed at all. Especially the silencing of one particular race in favor of another:yennefer:

I’m not saying ALL reactions have that direct intention. I’m speaking on threads involving Black people, Black artists, Black culture, BLM, racism, and other related threads. I even noticed some GGD users here sugarcoat blatant racist comments as shade which is a seperate topic that needs to be discussed.

I don’t know what kinda debate you had with @PETTY and everyone else, but please don’t be rude to me. ;)

Are we going to get to a point where literally everything is insulting and everyone gets cancelled? And will that reset society, and people won't have to walk on eggshells anymore? Because this is getting a bit ridiculous.
