Not sure if it was posted but it seems like this is the 3rd (or 7th if you count the other droplets) official single from "Smile" ! :bear:

" “Cry About It Later” is the latest single that Perry released off of her sixth studio album, Smile, which was also released on Friday. Previously released tracks included “Daisies,” “What Makes A Woman,” and “Never Really Over.” "

I will admit I oddly woke up with this one in my head. There are actually a handful of solid album cuts on the album, it's a shame songs like Cry About it Later, Only Love, and Tucked weren't released as singles earlier. Had all three been released after NRO as 2nd, 3rd, and 4th singles I think the album reception and roll-out would have been wildly different.

I agree! I don’t hate on Daisies but Katy has never succeeded with ballads (not even on her prime) and she had just released another one with Never Worn White so why did they think it was a good idea to promote Daisies for the album release ?!

They should’ve had tried CAIL, Teary Eyes, Champagne Problems or even Tucked. I think those ones had a higher chances to become a cute hit

Also I don’t think Harleys in Hawaii belongs to this record. They should have included Never Worn White instead. It even fits better in the tracklist spot

I actually like Daisies, I feel it is one of her strongest lyrically, but it just doesn't fit as a single. I thought she was going to re-brand the album as more acoustic, calling back to her debut, when she re-booted with Daisies. If that were the case, then I guess Daisies would've been perfect.

Harley's in Hawaii is definitely slightly out of place, but less so than Smile. I actually think with some tracklist tweaking Harley's in Hawaii could fit (despite still being slightly out there). I really think Smile as a title track gave people a different impression about the album, or perhaps confused them. The sound is so different from all other released tracks and the visuals too (and to have it be the title track when it's so different is a choice).

But yea, if she's really trying to use single-ready songs that better represent the album, CAIL, Champagne Problems, and Tucked are the songs IMO. CAIL I'd actually say is the smartest one (so I'm glad it's the "third single") cause it is a little fresher and has the ability to really catch on more than the others.
