He was worth 130 billion at the start of the year, he earned 70 billion in 7 months:spin:

One of the few people that actually benefited from the pandemic

That’s why I included “smarter”. And there’s ZERO logic behind a person being a billionaire (!) thanks to luck, unless they won a big lottery. Reaching such a milestone requires years and years of hard work, research, sleepless nights, pushing boundaries and thinking out of the box; this case is way more common than the one with being “lucky”.
I understand it’s a tough world out there but it isn’t the rich responsibility to fund our education, living necessities or infrastructure, specially when we have a government that already tax us for those stuff.
EVERY person money is their own and they’re free to spend it how they please, nobody is responsible for anybody else, donations and sponsorships should be a choice and not an obligation.

Perhaps I just don't have enough knowledge to understand, but why exactly is it that whenever someone is rich, people feel it's wrong and that they should redistribute their wealth to the less fortunate?

I mean this guy could lose billions and not even notice, sure, but in general, are people no longer allowed to be rich or something? :oprah:

Because he became rich largely through worker exploitation. It is very hard to become that wealthy without it being by unethical means. People at Amazon warehouses are not allowed to use the bathroom in order to save him a few cents.

When Amazon took over Whole Foods he also cut worker benefits to save more costs.

That’s pretty nasty.

This is such an American thing. It's not like it's unethical getting rich, the question is how you do it and what you do with it. I think it is not ignorant socialist bullsht to be critical about the behaviour of this man and his company

when you step outside of the capitalist thinking box you start understanding that the hard work of one person doesn't equal the amount of money this guy has. it's the work of the employees that he has been recruiting since he began amazon.

but even if he earned that money fairly, the spending of that money isn't going to be that fair as millions of people around the world are suffering because of lack of resources.

it's down to the point where you have to decide if we are obliged to help others if we have the resources to do so or can we keep our resources and energy to ourselves and do nothing against other's lack of opportunities to live and thrive.

he could literally end climate change and world hunger and still be one of the richest humans on this planet. Just to put into perspective how ridiculous this all is.

Girl if I had that much money you bet I’d be not willing to share a penny.. unless it’s my family.. maybe. Human greed knows no limit :haroon:
