I feel like he said a lot but I got nothing from it. He basically shows what he does, and what he think he will tell you but after the video I feel like we went full circle and I still don't know what he thinks.

What did he spill? :bear: He kinda just said he didn’t like her in the beginning because she was following a formula, implied that she’s bought a good amount of music and then said he likes her now. He dismissed her art and seemingly only really cares about her vocal diversity and plugging his own brand :stalkga:

REALITY

I'll never understand people who are like, "Oh, these artists are just doing what they're doing for attention. They have no artistry, they just have gimmicks," as if older artists never did that...Even bands like The Beatles and KISS used theatrics. It's pretentious to be like, "It's only about your voice." Of course, being a singer, your voice should be your most important instrument, but artistry comes in many forms. There's no need to tear down others for their art.

Like, these people only respect Gaga now because she's less "theatrical" as she was back in the day—although with Chromatica, that's changing again—but what that really shows me is that they failed to understand what her art meant back in the day. Even with something like the meat dress, it annoys me that people just focus on the meat and not the meaning behind why she wore the dress in the first place.

Yes, I agree with all that. I'm someone who would have been guilty of what you're talking about, so I bring that perspective. If you're not paying much attention all you see is weirdness, lack of clothing, blood on stage, meat dress etc etc and you roll your eyes, but once you do a bit of research it all falls onto place and you see the full package of her artistry and what she's really about. And yes of course she's trying to get attention, but that's part of her job. If you're in the business she's in and you're not trying to get attention, then your commitment isn't all it might be, you're not giving it everything.

The meat dress is the one that irritates me. How long is it since she first explained that it was a political statement, and yet it still gets spoken about very often as if that explanation had never been given.

I'm gonna be "that" little monster for a second but what makes her great is what she's done for every kid who was ever told "you're too weird, too different, too unique". She built an entire "family" for those kids. Yes Little Monsters are family. She loved us like we were hers and that love has never wavered despite how cruel some can be. She'll always be Mama Monster

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

Interesting choice for 2 videos to watch of her haha

what makes her great?

Shes unique, she has a distinct voice, a great performer and singer, kind, and worked hard for her success - she wasn’t just handed it - and most of all? She’s still relevant which is hard to do nowadays

Really don't like him putting down the beginnings of her career, as if she did not show her talents then :madge:

And no she does not buy a lot of her music :triggered:

At least he thinks Bad Romance is a catchy tune :huntyga:
