Do you just buy the song on iTunes and call it a day? Or do you go the extra miles to help the songs chart position? I usually buy the song on iTunes, and I make a Spotify playlist to help support the song, I leave it on a few hours a day, with some songs in between so it doesn’t count as spam. I mean, I want her to do well, but I don't have time to do all the tricks, plus I don't have Spotify (am trying the Apple Music free trial for Gaga Radio, but I'll cancel that after). I'm also not going to buy things just to help her numbers, because she's a millionaire and I'm not. Bottom line is, performing well on the charts is great, but it doesn't affect me that much (though I'll always be irritated that "Bad Romance" never went #1 in the US ). With Chromatica, I purchased it on iTunes, plus bought a physical CD that also came with digital access (and a "Z" art card, but we shan't talk about that). I've streamed some of the videos on YouTube, especially in the beginning when I wanted to help views for ROM and "Sour Candy." With "Stupid Love," I bought the single on iTunes when it came out (despite already having the leaked version), and I streamed it on YouTube a few times. Y'all can say whatever tf you want about BTS stans but they've been working their asses off to get their faves, a Korean group, a #1 and it's about to happen, not to mention they are the biggest fandom and probably the strongest ever. I think this fanbase got really lazy, and I hate the "I'm not a kid anymore" or whatever, I'm not either, I'm 21 but everytime have time off I try my best to help my favorite artist chart cuz I know how much blood, sweat and tears she puts on her work. Sometimes I watch the music video multiple times a day too. I'll buy the album if I like it, will stream the songs on Spotify/Youtube if I feel like listening to them, will watch the videos on Youtube when I feel like watching them. Like with any other artist. I don't want to contribute to making the numbers grow artificially. It would be nice if charting as a whole was representative of how many people actually like the music and listen to it, rather than showing how a specific portion of people just buy and stream multiple times to support the artist. hELXIG 42,578 Posted August 26, 2020 Share Posted August 26, 2020 When Stupid Love came out I made a Spotify playlist with Stupid Love as every 3rd song, and other Gaga songs in between, and played it non stop for 2 days straight on my laptop just left it on while I was at work and had the volume down really low otherwise I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
