It’s probably a big generalization. Fall Out Boy and Paramore were textbook pop punk/emo music. Maybe that was grouped as alternative rock I guess. Well let me ask you, if you attended high school in the 00s were the people that listened to FOB and Paramore usually the popular people or would you consider them more alternative/against pop culture at the time.
