This one seems like the darkest Batman movie IMO. This. In the next two years, we'll be seeing at least 3 variations of the same character. Keaton, Affleck, Pattinson. I LOVE that they're all the same character, in the long run have the same villains/love interests, but are totally different stories/variations of the character. I know this bugs people, but I love seeing a superhero told from different times of their life/different stories. This will be the youngest batman we've seen yet and that in itself is exciting. This really feels like it'll be a totally different Batman movie. More mystery, more character development, maybe not as much action/fight scenes. Guest
This is so good. Very Christopher Nolan but even darker imo. This is year 2 of Batman so of course he's not looking super Bruce Wayne with his hair down, because he's looking for revenge more than anything, it's a different mindset. I love how we see the black makeup on his eyes, this is something he'd do to put underneath his mask, it's overall so exciting ugh never been this happy

I used to get really excited for movies but this trailer did not impress me at all. Same old, same old. I’m actually kind of bummed out now because I really wanted this to be something new and exciting. That's fine but bear in mind this movie is still in production, there's going to be much more action scenes in the future so wait it out until another trailer comes out in 2021, maybe ull love it then! That is true, I did notice some shots looked a bit rough/unfinished (specifically the one scene where there’s an explosion). However, more action scenes are not going to make me more interested in the movie

I generally strongly dislike musicals, depends which ones tho I’m a huge Batman fan since childhood, it was my nickname in middle school even tho I’m a girl. I had a large collection of the comics including the ones from the ‘30s and ‘40s, and I was obsessed with the animated series and Batman Beyond. I also loved the Burton Batman movies, Batman Begins & The Dark Knight. I saw the Dark Knight in the theatres 5 times. But I am also a huge film buff and prefer avant- Garde, experimental, and films that take risks/try new things. At this point superhero movies are so played out and I am deeply bored by them. There are actually so many facets of Batman that could be explored or portrayed in new ways but they keep playing it ‘safe’ every single time. It’s like eating a chicken sandwich from a fast food place. Yeah it’s fine, and sometimes it really hits the spot if that’s what you’re craving. But after 20 times eating the same sandwich, I personally get bored and want to eat something new, wether it be something really trashy from a food truck or something very high class at an expensive restaurant. I get it’s a franchise and their only true goal is to make as much money as possible, but I am sick of how monotonous and unoriginal it has made mainstream film. Batman has zany, kooky, deeply dark, painful, joyous, dramatic etc stories that you can pull from but they keep pulling from the same ones and playing it generally safe. And i’m bored of it. That said I will give it a chance of course, I can’t have a definitive word without seeing the finished product. But I am going in with low expectations, which has worked for me with pretty much all the DC and Marvel movies in recent times. I just want something that will truly entertain me and make me leave the theatre feeling creatively invigorated and going ‘wow!’. And that is happening more and more infrequently over the years, sadly.

And that is happening more and more infrequently over the years, sadly. I was just being silly, but yea. I'm picky about musicals - I love Moulin Rouge and some of the classics, like The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, etc. Even the Buffy musical episode I love. That's impressive! I was also a huge Batman fan growing up, and will always be a hardcore Batman fan, although I never had a ton of DC comics. I collected a large amount of Marvel comics for a few years. Do you still have your comics? I am also pretty over superhero movies in general. I like some of the Marvel movies, and have seen almost all of them, but very few stick with me and feel overly formulaic. I'm a huge fan of movies, and am pretty picky about what I like, but give a lot of different films a chance. I think A24 has consistently been putting out some incredible films over the last few years, of different genres, and that they're really helping move the film industry in an exciting direction for indie creators. I took a break from the DC films with the Snyderverse - I just couldn't stand how bland, artless, and aggressively "macho" they were. So that factors into the excitement I feel for this film; I've been waiting for something that could stand up to the Nolan trilogy, as well as what came before it. As this is the first movie of a new iteration, I'm giving it a lot of slack. But I really love what I see so far, in that it seems faithful to the source material, and isn't reliant on CGI for every frame. It's hard to know what the overall tone will be, but I have a lot of faith from this trailer. It seems to be a different enough and mature take for me to get excited about. I totally agree about your last part. I loved the experience of going to the theater, even if the movie isn't the best, but I have also found there to be fewer movies that really make an impression. i don't remember ARTPOP

I think I still have a few of them at my parents’ place. I sold a lot of my comic books when I went to university because I was super broke. You make good points of it being the first of a new batch, but I feel like they reboot franchises so frequently now it’s hard to get invested. For all we know the movie will bomb and they will cancel any sequels, or Robert Pattinson will quit. But we’ll see!
