Eido 3,676 Posted August 22, 2020 Share Posted August 22, 2020 Netflix announced that they decided to cancel the production of The Society which was supposed to start shooting its second season in September. It's the first time that they decide to cancel a second season after they announced it was renewed. Probably because of the pandemic. They also announced they decided to cancel I Am Not Okay With This . It was the second creation from both the creators of Stranger Things and the creator of The End of The F*****g World. At this point, we only know that next year should have a new Riverdale season, Ryan Murphy' shows, and the creators of GoT's show, and Stranger Things. I feel like there are so many other series that have had the story told already and they’re just wringing it out. Shame the new work is getting cut. They actually worked well, but they are canceled because of the covid 19. Since the series were at their first season, they might think they will lose their momentum if they wait too much to release a second season. On the other hand it took multiple years to have the Kissing Booth 2, and it didn't work and critics were savage with the first movie and the second one, and yet they renewed it for a third movie. Ziggy 12,000 Posted August 22, 2020 Share Posted August 22, 2020 I think an important. component people are missing is that production costs for *all* shows are about to go up in order to be COVID compliant. So even the Netflix business is doing well in profits, I imagine the production side has to make a lot of changes that make those margins a lot smaller when they return to filming.
