Even though I’d really like to see it AOC becoming POTUS is unrealistic. Democrats will push the same agenda as it happened with Biden and Hillary before a progressive with a grassroots campaign actually makes it to the White House. Unless Biden loses the election there is no real chance that a progressive gathers more votes than a moderate in 2024 just because how rigged the primaries are. And if Biden wins 2020, there is a way higher chance of Kamala Harris winning the primaries because she has super-PACs on her side.

This is so much what has gone wrong in America. Politicians are not supposed to be cool. I would never want them to be. I just want them to do the best for our country, for the people. We all need to be highly critical and scrutinize our elected and public officials. They serve us, the citizens, and we pay their salaries. They exist to serve and protect us - they are not celebrities and should not be treated as such.

they're treating her like a celebrity because she's one of the few - in a long time - that seems to be in it for the everyday people. she's the voice of the voiceless, and as a Canadian I think y'all should be thankful there's someone like her in your political system. So many young people are intrigued by her and in turn they will be involved in the upcoming elections, a demographic that historically stays away from politics.

Nobody said that they were ungrateful. We just shouldn’t act as if they’re a celebrity when they’re not.

I love how she connects skincare and makeup to self-care and radical politics.  Yes! This is why even with the pandemic, for some people, skincare and makeup are still important, even if they're staying at home. 

I sued to use the same sunblock as her, but then Bioré reformulated it, and it turns out I'm allergic to the new formation.

nah y'all are just complaining for the sake of... there's nothing wrong with youth, especially young women, seeing her (a woman in power) as a role model, which in turn makes her a celebrity to some extent. but there's a difference between people becoming famous for useless things and misusing their fame and what aoc has been doing.
