Because it’s inspired by the director’s life and life is not always PG

I never understood why children are allowed to act in adult movies but are not allowed to watch the movie their acting in

@StarstruckIllusion Why are you choosing to ignore everything that's been posted in this thread? The info people researched and posted on your behalf which was your responsibility before making such a thread? Why are you choosing to ignore the fact that this was intended to be the director's version of the events that happened to her, being sexualized while going through competitive dancing as a child?

chaeri pls

True but that doesn’t mean it has to be filmed and advertised in a perverted way. If you wanted to be like “oh this is bad for children” then the advertising does an absolutely bad job with that... the poster looks like it’s just another Disney movie 😭

My parents let me watch anything, it’s just a guideline. The standards in Canada are even different from the ones in the US. It really varies by country.

Y’all should watch the movie The Hunt, where a man is falsely accused of molesting a local child and his community begins a campaign of harassment, ending with him getting shot. :trollga:

I guess I won't be watching that since you gave the ending away...

Maybe you should do some research on it instead of posting flamebait that you find on Twitter.

I did. You’re just mad you don’t like my results.

The way you’re the one who’s ignoring the fact like half this thread is me replying to people. Explain that. Read that. No ones said anything of substance yet. Maybe be mad Netflix’s advertising doesn’t mention the lesson that this is a victimhood story, and instead they cloak it like a fun female-positive movie, like I am. It’s more than one issue about all of this. I didn’t even trash the director in the OP...

"It’s NOT AN ORIGINAL NETFLIX MOVIE! It’s a french film, directed by a black french woman, about the dangers of sexualization that young girls are drawn to I saw it at a film festival (and it was at Sundance too) and it’s actually a pretty good film"

That was a comment I read in the tread... guys you always complaining about "Karens" and you are turning yourselves into them. The amount of european movies from festivals that you guys will cancel if you know them LOL. I think the best is watching it first then complain later ;)

Gonna feature this so people can have both sides of the debate as soon as they click on the thread.

The OP was being reported for misleading info, hopefully this works for everyone :spin:

You're stinky
