is this coming from the same source as the #1 in 62 countries? because I’m ngl I have nothing against Katy doing these numbers but there has been 0 general public awareness of these singles or the album so where tf has this hype come from?

Exactly. It’s so obviously fake. Cardi’s recent smash only has around 1.4M on Facebook, there’s no way Katy has 45M. I think they’re bots

If this is true, then it sounds like Facebook's News Feed algorithm will control the Billboard charts.

Makes you conclude that FB views can't possibly count as much as "regular" streams from actual music streaming sites and definitely not as much as paid downloads. Everyone knows that paid options count more, so FB can only count for so much if indeed this is the case. If 45 million FB users (especially if they're all from America, as is claimed) watched this video, why isn't this song more of a talking point right now? Why isn't its success being mirrored on YouTube? Why isn't it flying up the itunes charts? If they aren't bots, this must mean the majority who watched didn't like the song and didn't stream it or buy it, so why should this be deserving of a top 5 spot?

The SONG itself also builds up on me so much even though it's not an instant bop like NRO. I listen to it like almost every hour!

People still watch television? I honestly can’t remember the last time I scrolled through channels on a tv.  Streaming services are just so much more convenient and have better exclusives.

Most streaming services still have commercials. Not everything is Netflix. As a matter of fact more streaming services have commercials especially if you have a live streaming service and especially if the streaming service is free. Even YouTube has ads.

Also your going to discredit the millions upon millions of people that watch cable TV just because you don't.

After the immensity of commercials popping up each minute in YouTube, I am fully pledged to watch music vids in Fb.

Bold of you to assume they won’t be adding ads nnn

So... Was it all a lie and that 45 million views didn’t slay at all?

Maybe Billboard was the one who lied to all of us and that "new rule" was just a scam...

What's for sure not all those views were from US as the video was available for a certain amout of time only for non-US users. Who knows how they were counted..

Billboard numbers are complicated. Maybe they were able to count only the Real views somehow, not the views that were scrolled or something. Idk.

They were able to count the US only YouTube views from various accounts (not only the official ones) in the past so maybe they are also able to count the fb real views
