DC 25,164
While I prefer the visuals and the song Circus more than the examples of Smile you gave us, I'm probably gonna like the Smile album as a whole, like Circus had some GREAT songs, and a lot of eh songs
AVeryGagaHolyDick 25,504
Britney wins so far But the Smile album cover >>>>>>> Circus
L0NEL1GHTS 1
Circus is wildly underrated. Some of her best work is on that album. I really can’t imagine calling it “watered down” especially when we’re comparing it to music by Katy Perry but go off
NewYorkGirl 1,467
Not a huge fan of either, but Britney’s Circus doesn't look like it was created by 12 year olds who had no budget. Britney for the win. If KP was going for clown, she got it though. My. Lawyer. Liked. That.
Doot 2
Britney Spears. Perhaps if I was a pre-teen I'd be into Katy's imagery this era.
gagaxsebert 5,804
I’ll probably prefer Katy’s album musically wise cause Circus has the bops but a lot of filler. But... sticking to the OP Artwork; Circus > Smile Themed Song; Circus >>>>>>>>>>>>> Smile (sry Katy but it’s a landslide ) Extra Photos; Smile (excluding that tragic photo in the OP) > Circus Used to be HighRoad
Enigma 7,182
Artwork : Smile > Song : Circus > Utilimately I think Smile will be a huge flop, moreso than Witness. I actually enjoyed Witness and the 3 first singles. Smile sounds like an album with a bunch of random singles (NRO, HIH, etc) glued to it. It seems to have zero cohesiveness and what we've been given so far is not the GP's taste nor good enough for the popheads. But the clown imagery is cute!! FrederickSpears 2,114
Britney's entire Circus era is iconic in everyway. Such a great era! Katy's is more cringe.. but I still pre-ordered the album

Musicisfreedom 5,837
Katy. Her era just makes me so happy. I know it's campy and crazy, but that's what I love about it. It feels fun. Plus the meaning behind the album is very real and inspired. I feel like Katy really is about to drop one of my favorite albums this year. Gagadonna 10,801
By the way, I'm still curious as to why Britney's album was called "Circus" when the other songs/music videos had nothing circus-themed. Womanizer, Kill the Lights and Radar felt more like Blackout songs than anything about circus.
