Cody James 1,543
I love her. Yeah she has some “dirt” on her, but she seems educated and thinks before she speaks so thats a plus. I LOVED this masterpiece.

That’s not something to be proud of luv x ❤️💕 i edited my post to articulate myself better, but totally agree. i mean "grow" more in the sense of optics – I think Kamala's been vilified in a similar manner as Obama, and I would attribute a lot of it to misogyny and sexism (while also noting that her record as a prosecutor/AG isn't great by any definition of the word). I agree though, Obama was absolutely a sheep in wolf's clothing, but the main point of my argument is that black politicians simply don't have the luxury to pursue the progressive policies we need at a national level AND continue to be elected. (and this gets into why? why can't they? because of systemic racism and an electoral system that gives the winner anything, even if they win a mere plurality of the vote)

NFRatwell 23,290
Since this whole VP thing has been centered almost entirely around identity politics (not really bashing since we need to go through this phase before more equal opp) I hope it’s not too tone deaf to wonder whether people like Obama or Kamala will be remembered for being the first black president/VP or we’ll actually remember them for being biracial? Will future candidates run off of being “fully” black? It’s also interesting how both of them aren't actually ethnic African-Americans, as in their families haven’t been through centuries of generational racial oppression in America. Plus she has some fun fact type stuff like first Senator to give birth while serving that could show up in campaign ads. I don't really know why all the Bernie people are so upset over this pick, isn't she a supporter of single-payer? no ❤️ she flip flopped on it when she spoke w the donors. She doesn’t stan it anymore. 22 minutes ago, FATCAT said: Bucking the politics game is how we got Trump. You have to change the game from the inside, otherwise you'll always lose. No, we got Trump because Americans got tired of the (Obama, Clinton’s) system as it kept hurting them. Obama’s third term should scare you for what the republicans bring up in 2024. PoshLife 17,019
Joe Biden's only job - ONLY job - this year is to get elected. Kamala Harris is, as a VP pick, both appropriately safe (i.e. non-alienating for the coalition he's putting together) and historic. I'm really happy he made the decision to pick her to be his governing partner.

Will you be saying this when Joe is barely winning in the polls as we get closer to Nov? Gosh people like you are so annoying, it is like complaining about having a papercut when you could instead have had your arm amputated. Get some perspective and see the bigger picture, if all you do is complain then i hope you are happy with 4 more years of corrupt racist misogynistic republicans in power with the racist in chief trump praising white nationalists. Even i preferred Bernie but i recognise he just didn't get the vote out this time round and we have to settle more mildly progressive candidates instead of extremely progressive. It is much better for us to win with biden than to lose with bernie, he just couldn't convince enough voters. Joe is extrmemly popular among voters and the only people who will be responsible if he loses will be trump voters and also people like you who are still falling for the "bOtH sIdEs aRe JuSt As BaD" that you fell for back in 2016
