Not only will biden have many who sat out 2016 voting for him but many republicans who have turned against trump will also be voting for him, check out this youtube channel of republicans against trump showing just how many from his own party will not be giving him their vote this time round, some even going as far as voting democrat for the first time https://www.youtube.com/c/RepublicanVotersAgainstTrump/videos We’ll see what happens in November. I am in no way a fan of Harris nor Biden but these two are a endless times better pick for the Oval Office than Trump. This is about so much more than just another 4 years. It‘s about saving the world from falling apart actually. This is bigger than Obama getting into office. The future of the US is at stake but also the entire world. If we want our future generations to live on a habitable planet and prevent possible wars (nuclear wars for example) we must support Biden and Harris because Trump is doing the exact opposite of what should be done to save our home planet. Critizising the Dems and their corrupt system is important but any chance of getting votes towards Trump must be reduced as much as possible until we have these two in office. Shutting down critique may be propaganda but Trump has been playing like that the last election. He had the power. He has that power plus all the power from being POTUS. He is going to activate all possible forces to keep him in this place where he is now. We have to join forces too. Please keep your understandable arguments against Kamala a little more decent, don’t even share it in the first place and maybe support and share the positive aspects of their programs than the negative that could maybe be insecuring people and in worst case not get them to vote or vote them for Trump. We need active support but if you are not willing to do that for them then just don’t say and write a bad thing about Biden or Harris. It is the least you can do to prevent Trump. Finally someone with some sense. I share the same sentiments, save the criticism till after we get these white supremacists out of office, then we can focus on fixing the democrat party, for now the only mission should be getting trump out
Othon 34,299
Every political thread devolves in the exact same way. 1. Conservative Democrats uncritically fawn over fairly right-wing politicians that happen to be members of the Democratic party; 2. Leftists come in and lay out their records and call them out for ruining lives or working to prevent everyday people from getting healthcare, etc, and say that this shouldn't be the norm; 3. The conservative Democrats have a meltdown and start calling leftists names, insulting their intelligence, and implying that they're secret Republican agents simply because they dared to state definitively that we deserve better from our representatives; 4. Leftists respond; 5. Conservative Democrats play the victim and accuse the left of being uncivil for not being swayed by meaningless rhetoric designed to gloss over the horrible records of the politicians that they were just fawning over. Every single time.

You have no room to talk when it comes to the question of reactions or instigating or furthering infighting when you’re passive aggressively liking posts that insinuate that we’re racist or being duped by foreign countries for simply pointing out that we can do better than these two and that we can’t get complacent and let their shared ideology go unnamed and unaddressed with a critical eye. I'm not annoyed by leftists. Again, read any of my other comments in this very thread about how I've supported the more progressive wing of the Democratic party. I'm annoyed that there are people (who happen to be leftist) that aren't seeing the bigger picture. Arguing and fighting with each other, at this stage of the game, is going to take you nowhere unless you want to lose in 2020. That's the reality of the situation. As for me liking the post about how you "hate Black people," I liked that post because the reality was that a lot of Black voters did vote for Biden in the primaries. That wasn't actually directed towards you or other leftists. It was because it's just a fact that many Black voters, especially in the South, voted in favor of Biden, which tremendously helped him win the nomination. I have personally said that I would accept whoever the Democratic nominee would be. Obviously I wanted it to be Bernie Sanders, but I have accepted the fact that Joe Biden is our nominee. It's time to do the same with Kamala. Again, I'm not saying that you can't have a critical eye. I actually also did say—back in 2019 and in early 2020 when Bernie was doing well in the primaries—that moderates would need to accept the fact that Bernie could be our nominee. And if I recall, you liked that post. Why is it okay when it's the candidate you like, but when it's not the candidate you like, you all of a sudden need to quote every single post where someone disagrees with you? Morphine Prince 109,683
Horrible pick and it’s hilarious how she came after him last year and is now his running mate. No values, no integrity. Couldn’t expect anything more from her and Biden. What I will give her is that she’s an excellent debater and can wipe the floor with people so I guess that can help Biden with his senile mind. As society becomes more progressive the democrat party will follow, the fact of the matter is there are a lot of idiots in america who are not ready for real change, it is a gradual process. I also hate lobbyists but these are conversations we can have after defeating trump. Every election more and more progressives are elected within the democrat party and they in turn will transform the party, look at people like AOC, she will be the presidential leader in the near future one day i have no doubt about it, but we need the votes and that takes time, america is not there yet. Some of us far lefties really do mean well but we cannot keep operating within a party or framework that is centrist. Fingers crossed that your predictions come true: GOP destroyed; the Democrats will stay the centrists (not a terrible group of people...just not my personal vision or values); and a new emergence of a democratic socialist group or something along those lines. Anyway, just wanted to thank you for your civil comment about the need for a new progressive party. Hope all is best it can be given the times! For one, over 10 million Americans have died since 2016. If 2016 was decided by 77k votes, depending on which side those deaths were on, (republicans have more old voters), results might be completely different. Biden got much higher primary turnout than Hillary did. He might not be anyone's favorite, but you are absolutely delusional if you think you can compare his reputation to Hillary's. Not Even Close. I'm not going to lie down and ignore their awful records and policy positions out of some sort of deference to the party apparatus. We're on a Lady Gaga forum. What we say on here is not going to swing the election. The problem is that the basis behind what some people find "atrocious" is subjective. Trump's handling of COVID-19, in my eyes and yours, and I'm sure for the majority of peole here, has been atrocious, but that's ultimately subjective because there are in fact people out there who disagree. IMO, those people are insane and beyond ignorant, but at the end of the day, that's subjective. Biden and Harris definitely haven't had the best track records, by any stretch of the imagination, but depending on who you ask, their politics have been either too conservative, too liberal, or just right. My original post came for leftist because being someone who's a progressive, it's difficult to have to admit defeat even though I ultiamtely know it's for the best. That said, I'm also not someone who's as progressive as say, you, for instance. Even since the beginning, I actually didn't loathe Joe Biden as much as you did. That's not an attack or anything against you, that's just how I feel about Biden. I don't think he was the best candidate by any means, but I also didn't have as much of a problem with him being the nominee as other progressives here did. If you're ultimately voting for Biden and Harris, then that's good, I think. There are people here who are voting for a third party or not voting at all, and I think that's worse. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what you feel about a candidate. A vote is a vote. It's not measured by whether or not you like the candidate. My vote, as someone who's indifferent about Biden, holds just as much value as someone who's Biden's #1 fan. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢. Its an abusive relationship and it need not continue. The in fighting would cease and the centrists can do their thing.
