Interesting choice. Could have sworn he would have picked Gretchen Whitmer but we’re here so now.

Guess the KHive won

Thankfully it’s not Susan

Reminder that Harris full-on called Biden a racist and lumped him in with white supremacists in one of the debates and now... that just doesn't matter anymore, I guess?

The worst possible ticket, especially right now. A tough on crime President and Vice President at a time when people are out in the streets protesting the very system these two helped build and defend.

And conservative Dems wonder why the left is so critical of this god-forsaken party. :rip:

Politics is politics. They wouldn't have picked her if it wasn't a net benefit to the campaign.

Politics is politics.

It literally doesn't have to be like this. Just to be clear.

Tammy Duckworth would have been a better pick, much harder to attack, from the midwest, military vet is always a +. Plus she has some fun fact type stuff like first Senator to give birth while serving that could show up in campaign ads. I don't really know why all the Bernie people are so upset over this pick, isn't she a supporter of single-payer?

Okay, not excited about her history as a prosecutor, but no time to sit around wallowing. I expected this back when she dropped out early on.

Trying to find the silver lining: congrats to our first black and Asian American VP candidate. (Please don't erase Kamala's Indian heritage y'all.) Plus, if SNL is able to return in some form, we get more Maya Rudolph.

Yeah, those are the only silver linings I've got right now. Hopefully I'll find more going forward.

Even though I'm very iffy about Kamala being VP, I do think it's admirable that Biden picked the first POC candidate for Vice President. Being an Asian American myself, I do like seeing some representation there.

Bucking the politics game is how we got Trump. You have to change the game from the inside, otherwise you'll always lose.

We got Trump by selling out the interests of the working class and running a terrible, incredibly unpopular candidate in 2016. I can't believe I'm still having to repeat this four years later.

In regards to the last statement, she is very flip-floppy when it comes to her stance on healthcare. Also, the fact that she's had so many POC incarcerated under her watch doesn't look good at all. For someone who themselves is a part of the Black community, it isn't great on the optics to see that you've been instrumental in locking a lot of your own community up.

I agree with your sentiment about Tammy Duckworth though. Personally, I would've choosen her. She has the least amount of baggage between really any of Biden's shortlist, she's a woman of color, and like you said, she's from the midwest and is a vet. I think she would've done really well.

people barely mention it, it's kinda sad

Especially in this political climate it’s just easier for her and others to identify as black. But I’m interested in seeing if she’ll change that if she’s elected.

The problem is Americans are so lazy when it comes to voting it’s laughable. Even states with MAIL IN voting have turnout rates that can be vastly improved.
