I’m only concerned that 5 years ago she was scared of turning into a money making machine and told everybody how that affected her mental health and now she has basically turned into one?

I don’t mean to be rude, but between Haus Labs, the incredibly expensive watches and the new perfume she’s about to promote... it looks sketchy. Do people change their values that radically over money?

She is in her mid thirties now and very clearly going to have to re-evaluate her career. She's been taking steps in different avenues since ARTPOP. Even without that era being what it was she was always going to go into Jazz. She was always going to go into acting. She was always going to turn Haus of Gaga into more than music. She didn't like doing certain things that she felt was simply gaining money for others without anything behind it. Her makeup line is HERS. Her contracts she is signing now are a stepping stone for her next moves. She is the face of Valentino's perfume because of the deal they made for ASIB and it paid off!! She hasn't changed her values she has matured and refocused.

And I think it's damn unfair that you judge the whole fanbase. We are not one organism, everyone is responsible for themselves and everyone has an opinion. I've been on GGD for a few months now and I've found out so many times that I'm immature, demanding that I'm not a real fan just because I belong to this fandom. Because if someone here criticizes the fandom, it is all at once.

No offense, but that's a pretty convenient way to suggest that certain groups within fandoms can't have collective stances on things.

I think constructive criticism is fair, but some people appear to depend on her (and her success) for their own happiness and sense of self-worth, which is unhealthy, and flat-out hating her for not doing promo is disturbing. If people dislike her so much, maybe it's time to cut their ties.

It's almost as if... people are... allowed to complain :vegas:

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

it's been this way for years.  Many LM's apparently have no desire to "be better".

The only people who take their dissatisfaction to a toxic level are those that live vicariously through her and others. They're "stans". Stan culture is toxic af.

You don't have to like what she's doing or even support her in the slightest. Just don't attack her, you nut jobs :toofunny: there's no need for all that.

Listen to the music or don't but don't pretend she's the bad guy when you're posting hate online.

Exactly. I think constructive criticism is definitely fair also, but there's a fine line between constructive criticism and flat-out expecting failure for a person.

Yeah, no one has a brand on their ass saying "Property of Lady Gaga". The door's wide open :laughga: if Taylor Swift or Katy Perry does it for you better than Gaga then by all means, get to stepping. We won't hate you for it.

Just remember these people are people. They deserve respect and patience just like the rest of us do.

Yes, the fanbase being shitty to her is something that needs to stop being normalized. Even in this thread already it's the same typical excuses people usually use to try and justify their behavior.

One thing I constantly see is the whole "she's a different artist than she used to be, everything's gone to **** since the ARTPOP era, I miss that Gaga!"....

ARTPOP was in 2013. That was over seven years ago, so why the hell are y'all still hanging around bitching and complaining if you haven't liked the artist for seven years. That's no longer a Gaga thing.

It's a you thing.

Gaga gives so much to her fans. I think in some ways she gave too much and now people expect idk, a constant re-creation of BTW. She's a real person, but y'all never cut her slack.

Gracious Gaga

Yeah lots of her fans are ungrateful and have nothing better to worry about.  The harsh blunt sad truth .

Some LMs are very rude and disrespectful on twitter I don't support that behaviour but I don't understand why is she missing. There is almost 0 promo since she released Chromatica, and at this point I don't even want a new single, music video or a performance. I would be happy just with a Q&A on Twitter or Instagram. Even another Gagavision. Or just a 'Hello monsters, paws up xoxo, bye". She doesn't owe us nothing and she isn't a entertainment machine but I expend a lot of money on her music and concerts. I don't think it's too much to ask for a simple "Hello, I'm fine".

If Chromatica had "flopped" and Gaga completely disappeared then i could understand some peoples concerns. But it hasn't, the album is having huge success as well as non singles having hype. Gaga just isn't comfortable doing promo right now, whats wrong with that ? As for people saying she isn't comfortable selling perfumes and how she's being a hypocrite, its a completely different situation. She won't really have to promote this, she's simply just the face of the fragrance. As far as i know, nothing she will ever do will be enough for some fans and some need to have other things to think about.

It really bothers me how this fanbase acts like everything she does is for us. So when she releases something that isn't aimed at little monsters they act like she's abandoned us.

When she does anything not connected to music it enrages the fanbase and brings out their inner spoilt brat. What about what Gaga wants? Why does she always have to pander to us?
