Just start with her singles, YouTube Björk and listen to her classics and see if anything peaks your interest and then you can delve into its album since they’re all very consistent records and vastly different from one another. playground love - josef salvat

I didn’t get into Bjork this way though, I actually heard biophilia first, I remember it came out around Born This Way when I was around 13, and the cover art interested me so I bought the album on iTunes. Then I had the app, and I fell into a hole of becoming a Björk stan! Biophilia is probably my favorite album I had a similar experience! Maybe we underestimate people lol my first that I REALLY got was Vulnicura and I have been hooked ever since. I was hard for BTW’s sound at the time so I was more into metal, rock, and glam pop in ‘11 so Biophilia just didn’t quite click even though, like you, I loved the cover. But besides that, I think it is one of her most pop-structured albums.. On the other hand, Vulnicura and Utopia are the thoroughly weird ones with really complex arrangement and melody structures that are very hard to digest even for a seasoned listener. I think Medúlla gets its rep because of its acapella focus. People are *really* turned off by that for whatever reason so even if, like you said, it is pretty pop in structure, that element alone is a lot for people to overcome. Aside from Volta, it’s probably tied for my least listened to all the way through along with Debut. Now, I love Medúlla, but because of its specifics, I think that it has a tendency of being an album you don’t immediately put on for casual listening where something like Utopia, while a bit weirder, is draped in sounds that we’d generally consider appealing to the ear like flutes and harps and such. I would put on Blissing Me before, say, Oceania, for background music, is what I mean hahaha one is a bit more abrasive on the ear and the other, while more complex, is I’d say more immediately pleasant based on the types of sounds she chose.
