Economy 52,844
So... Lock low income people out of the market so middle and upper middle class can see gains???? In addition to further adding racial disparities this ends up being a wealth transfer to boomers as well from millenials that will never buy a house My Country has had a 20 year housing boom without 1 single crash and it has caused a lot of problems. It's not something you want People like my grandparents in Toronto get an old crusty house worth $1.5M with no effort just sitting there living on their pension meanwhile my generation will rent for life

But yeah, the irony is how many low-income people support him despite his policies NEVER benefitting them. They probably would say they love this policy because they don't want to be in the suburbs with snobby Democrats anyway.

They probably would say they love this policy because they don't want to be in the suburbs with snobby Democrats anyway. A lot of low income ppl probably support him because of the idea that being business friendly promotes investment and economic growth and then benefits everyone Issue is that trickle down economics worked better in older times. Not in modern times where each unit of economic production is less labor intensive which means the direct correlation between economic growth and what people actually get paid is deminished. It's easier to keep it at the top Also in modern times the bigger issue is skills mismatch because the world is getting so technical that many often don't qualify for good job opportunities. There's good paying jobs available but people just don't qualify. That doesn't benefit the companies or the workers Stuff like that gets solved with education not with tax cuts That's not to say that going to left wing extremes can't hold back growth as well. I personally believe Bernie Sanders for example proposed some taxes beyond a threshold where they would be beneficial and start doing more harm than good tbh. So I'm not a supporter of left wing economics past a certain point But the taxes on Corporations did not need to be lowered as much as Trump lowered them. More importantly than Corporations actually is the individual tax rates on capital gains among the really wealthy. That's actually where the true big chunk of inequality comes from the Corporations as companies I'd say not as much as many people believe tbh. A lot of share holders are everyday people too and retirement pension funds are also a lot of the holders. These companies are public and average people have stakes on them too. Also if u raise taxes on them too much they will just raise their prices to compensate and it ends up being a tax on consumers as well So his Corporate tax cuts may have been excessive yes but the true problem is specific ultra wealthy individuals that are seriously overpaid and under taxes. Webb7 438
This is getting sad. How can such evil be normalized. I hate that clown He's clearly trying to regain footing with suburban voters who left him in droves in 2018. I don't think it'll work though. It's not like there's MUCH OF ANY government housing going up anywhere, much less suburban areas. Most of those uneducated rural whites WORK. They work on farms, in factories, construction, they're mechanics, etc. They do all the jobs that the "educated" don't want to do. a majority of poor Americans do not vote. Poor Americans understand America better than someone who has not even lived in the country.
Morphine Prince 109,654
Most people here in the US, based on my experience would agree with him. Some of these upper middle class people in the suburbs think everything that isn't in their area is the ghetto.
