What is quite possibly the worst year of Ellen's life has just gotten much worse if Variety's reporting is accurate. According to the site, WarnerMedia has opened an internal investigation into accusations of racism and abuse that sources have been sharing for weeks now. Once Ellen began recording her show from home it was revealed that her usual crew was replaced by a non-union group- but her studio team didn't even hear from Ellen or the show's producers; as Summer began, Buzzfeed ran a story featuring various accusations of racism or insensitivity on the part of the show's executive producers; and on Twitter former guests and audience members have joined other people who simply ran into Ellen somewhere to share horror stories of their experiences with the comedian (these tweets have not been vetted and as such their content not proven.)

Earlier this month, the tabloid world became consumed with the possibility of Ellen's show being canceled, but the studio shot those down. Her daytime syndicate has been on the air for the better part of two decades and has propelled her to international stardom and won her countless awards.

Wow this is so interesting. Remember the interview Gaga did for ASIB? There was a similar thing where she was saying she wasn’t returning her calls. Course Gaga managed to laugh it off. The clip was taken down from Ellen’s YT    channel though.

That would be interesting to see. I don't remember it.

One of Ellen's former head writers, Karen Kilgariff, talks about it a little bit about what happened between her and Ellen during the writer's guild strike on Marc Maron's podcast (from 1:10:00-about 1:22:00). She doesn't go super into detail, either because it really wasn't as bad as people assume or because she doesn't want to speak ill of a former employer on a podcast, but it does sound like it ended on a pretty bad note. It's mostly interesting because it's one of the main stories people bring up when discussions about how Ellen treats her staff pop up.

Yeah Ellen is over, I don't really see them extending her contract after this?

Hopefully this is the final nail in the coffin for her show. Good riddance!

I used to love her show but once all these accusations came out, I feel duped. Haven't watched since

As the show progressed, Ellen changed a lot. She used to be sassy but also very sweet. Now she is just obnoxious and rude. Fame changes people, it always does, and usually not for the better.

She’s become super comfortable with her position and jaded. So many celebrities get like that once they obtain a certain level of fame and wealth, her show just isn’t enjoyable to watch because you can tell she would rather be doing anything else
