I think Lana has a very distinct voice in her writing, and plays with language in a challenging yet interesting way. She can be evocative in the way she sets a scene, but half of that lies in her delivery musically.

I’m not as familiar with Taylor, but her lyrics are more of what you see is what you get, if that makes sense. She’s good at evoking nostalgia and more specific emotions.

i don't remember ARTPOP

Remember when you hit the brakes too soon
Twenty stitches in a hospital room
When you started crying baby, I did too
But when the sun came up I was looking at you
Remember when we couldn't take the heat
I walked out, I said, I'm setting you free
But the monsters turned out to be just trees
When the sun came up you were looking at me

Omg I’m listening to this in the car as I type this :zilla:

So about 5? :bear: well that’ll be hard to compare considering Taylor has around 50

The question wasn’t “who wrote the most of their material?”. It’s “Who’s the better lyricist?”:ohwell:

I’m saying it’s hard to compare. :billie: when Taylor has about four albums worth of self written songs that explore multiple topics and genres and Lana has an EP worth :poot: If you want an answer I’d have to give it to Taylor. She is the whole package and doesn’t seem to actually need help when it comes to writing songs

Taylor writes like a white girl who did well in English class and went to school with a journal.

Lana has some more refinement but oftentimes gets repetitive.

Lorde eats both of them up for breakfast.

Florence drags them through the mud.
