Why Are Gaga's Singles Randomly Chosen?

I don’t think this is uncommon at all. Most artists release a lead single (often chosen by the label, or at least the label has a say), then wait to see the fan response to see what the best choice is for the following singles. They may have ideas of what they’d like to see as a single, but that doesn’t mean it’s a strict plan that the artist has to stick to. Plus, everyone is always going to have a different opinion on how to run every piece of promotion. I’m sure for example if she stuck with Venus there would be fans wishing DWUW was the second single instead of just a promo single.

There is no Lady Gaga era without some kind of messiness.

"Artistic integrity of the single selections"?  What does that even mean? Selecting singles has nothing to do with artistic integrity. 

But yes, the record label is kind of messed up for this happening again and again.

Plus, The Edge of Glory is one of her best songs.

TEOG, DWUW, and MR seem like obvious choices as hits for their albums, so it’s strange that she’s had something like this happen so many times where another less obvious single choice has been slated to be the single.
