efrs 435
When I saw that he was working on Plastic Doll, I was super hyped bc I enjoy his work! But then I remembered that his contribution to Kingdom Hearts 3's main theme was pretty underwhelming and a lot of fans of the series said it was a little generic and anemic-sounding. When I listened to Plastic Doll, I was supremely disappointed because I couldn't feel his involvement at all. There was nothing of his influences that shone through, but on the track he did with Boys noize, Midnight Hour, I could hear him in the track. I think Plastic Doll is a good song but I was expecting it to be a little more interesting production-wise. Do any of you all feel the same way? What did you think of his involvement? PS Yay for my first topic

rasclautmangos 2,746
I would like to know what he contributed to the song exactly. His involvement seems unnecessary.

According to Genius, he has credits with writing, keyboard, bass, and drums.
sillynate 6,170
I’m honestly disappointed that it wasn’t dubstep (I’m still living in 2012)
Grim 2,231
I was most excited for Plastic Doll but it's my least favorite on the album, I was hoping for something more gritty/dirty/otherwise dubstep inspired sound I'm probably wrong

PEZ 6,227
I love the track but I must admit, if I hadn't known beforehand that he contributed to it, I would've never guessed he had worked on it. (I am really only familiar with the first couple years of his own major releases, not more recent tracks where he is working as a duo/feature/coproducer etc., so maybe I haven't heard all his different production styles?) ⚡🐲
ToxicHot 6,444
Yeah I agree, there’s nothing really distinct in that song that makes me think of Skrillex production. But it’s cool that he was able to work on a more pop-sounding song rather than something completely electronic and dubstep. I’m not a fan of the music he’s done, aside from a few collaborations with artists like Ellie Goulding. dOnT sAd ReAcT mE 2 bE sHaDy i WiLL RePoRt U!!1! Doot 2
This album has proved to me that I should not feel ANY hype based upon the producers involved. The Skrillex song doesn't sound anything like Skrillex. There is ZERO Boys Noize. It feels 100% like BloodPop.

I feel like he did very little to the track but they have to credit everyone who worked on it. Wish he had a little stronger hand in it TBH! I was looking forward to it before it came out. 🐚
