She knows she'll sell big regardless of how she releases, she's never had that worry of timing to get good numbers. Surprise releases tend to sell well from big names because people blindly buy it for the novelty.

Selena Gomez my fav underperformed this year and instead of saying omfgggg no one else can release this year so that she can be #1 woman of the year i said, i love the music and that's what matters.

She's one of the few big names who released this year, period. She knew that would put all the focus on her. And knowing that she sells lots of albums, she's got to be responsible with that power. She used the pandemic to create this album from scratch, it wouldn't have existed without it. Gaga, on the other hand, was working on this album before the pandemic happened. One was scheduled, with a lot of hard work put in over a year, being released in line with her usual album schedule, another was created on a whim over a few months and released outwith their usual schedule. I know which one I'm supporting to be the bigger hit.

I never said she did it to sabotage Gaga but she did it to put all the attention on her, she couldn't let another artist take the title for the bestselling album of the year for once.

No one wins records or accolades of their own accord, it's all to do with who your competition is at the time, it's luck of the draw as to who you're up against. No, it's about more than Grammys. I care about who the public remember in any given year and who they decide to notice. When the next big name releases, the last one gets temporarily forgotten, so each big name has to ride out their moment in the sun for the longest.

I'm not speaking for them, I just think that most fans don't expect their fave to release every year, so it's excessive to give them that when they could easily wait it out a bit longer. If you enjoyed it fine, but others are allowed their own opinion to. I won't shut up just because certain people don't like it.

Because she's won it more than enough times. I hate when artists get greedy. And to the critics, it's amazing. I don't agree. You shouldn't win the title just because that's what you want. By "more lowkey," I just mean artists who can't sell upwards of 500k copies in a week. Gaga's not on the level of females like Taylor, Beyonce, Adele, who can do that. They weren't releasing this year so this was her big chance to be at the top again. I really thought Gaga fans would be more mad about this. And um, where exactly could Gaga promote it? Covid has stopped the chance for lots of live performances and maybe she couldn't be next to Ariana, obviously. And she halted promo to let BLM shine but seems to have tailed off now for whatever reason. A lot of all this isn't her fault. She had her chance to shine, she was shining, brilliantly and then stuff happened. She's already had bad luck getting her album pushed back and having to re-jig and not be able to do all the great performances she had planned and the first single not taking off like it should. Just when she got some luck back, it got doused again, all for an artist who didn't even need the spotlight right now.
