Even though I'm milennial I never undertood why people goes crazy about social networks. This issue just shows how companies like twitter are aware of that. And sadly people is so idiotized by this that they would even be willing to pay. In my oppinion, nothing replaces an afternoon whith friends chatting and laughing about life and stuff. Life is too short to live it through a screen.

if it's something small like a nintendo online membership where its less than $10.00 a month then I have no problem using a subscription to Twitter - as long as it gives me the option to use the colour customization on mobile like the web version of twitter has and the scheduled tweet feature.

i really don't see an issue with social networks opening up paid versions. people b*tch and complain so much about companies using user data yet they fail to comprehend that that's HOW they are able to even have free services.

this sounds like the most likely outcome.

twitter will lose even more money if they went 100% subscription only. they'll most likely create new features or limit features for free users (maybe a max amount of tweets per day per account or something)

they're just fun. twitter has little subcultures embedded into it that makes it more fun than things like facebook or instagram in a lot of ways. especially if you're involved in pop culture talks or politics it's a wonderful service. there are obviously not great sides to it like some weird p0rn sides of twitter or SJW twitter but those are easily avoidable. it's not for everyone though i guess. same reason why i don't personally see the appeal in facebook anymore

I don't mind this as long as they don't change what's currently available to free users. No taking functionality away from everyone to re-release as subscriber-only perks, please. Offer them something new like a different improved threading/unrolling ability, or increased caps on videos or character limits or something like that, or a new and different way to sort feeds, or more messaging management/features.

Then I guess I haven't tried this service properly. I will cosider get more familiar with it in the future. But I won't pay for anything
