Guest Messy vers
The situation has changed and in this case its okay to release more singles to keep hype and longevity of album. Maybe more promo of ROM till the end of August, 3 rd single at the end of August, 4th around Halloween, and the last one in the new year to make a hype for Chromatica Ball The best singles: 3 rd single: Free woman, Babylon hl version, Alice (to change climate little bit) 4 th: Replay, 91 5th: Sour Candy 6 th: additional one, promo single: Fun tonight, Elton Jolton, 1000 doves

PopRoyalty 180
Why do poeple want Babylon as a single? I want a video for it not as a radio single to promote. It will flop. Its a vogue inspired house song. Too gay and different for radio at this time. The only plausible choices for commercial success on the charts imo are Free Woman, Fun Tonight, Sine From Above (Europe), Sour candy, 1000 doves, etc.

I have a feeling it would flop so bad if released as a single.

Hope Free Woman isn't to similiar with Rain On Me. But i like this plan. I just would switch Free Woman and Alice.

Interscope has chosen to simply end an era early more often than release an extra single, though. In terms of mainstream releases, ASIB had 1, Joanne had 2, ARTPOP had 1-3, BTW had 5, TFM had 3, and TF had 4. Objectively, not releasing ARUTW was a major (Top 3) miss (it's a WW hit and is her 2nd biggest song on Spotify). Not releasing DITD as a final single during her TF/M peak was a big (Top 6) miss. Not releasing Gypsy to close out ARTPOP was a minor (Top 40) miss. Born This Way was a disaster all-around, though; by the time the album dropped, 4 songs had been released and turned the massive hype surrounding Gaga into oversaturation, killing what could've been one of the most epic pop eras of all time. Considering: 1. 4 / 6 singles released reached their peak positions on debut (official and promo singles). 2. Judas debuted + peaked at #10 with only 3 days of tracking, a regressive sound (no signs of evolution from TF/M), and controversy. 3. Edge of Glory debuted + peaked at #3 as a *promo* single. It never reached or exceeded its debut on the Chart despite being one of the best tracks on the album. 4. Hair debuted + peaked at #12 as a promo single - not far from the #6 peak You & I, the best-performing post-album single, reached in the US after intensive promo efforts. The pre-album buzz alone would've ensured 3 #1s if properly rolled-out. Instead of a dance-heavy lead targeting her core fans (gays/ gay allies), /Marry The Night' would've given Gaga a deeper narrative than "leader of misfits." If followed by 'Edge of Glory,' the progression from TF/M > BTW would've been clear: more personal lyricism and a rock-influenced blend of dance-pop. 'You & I' would've been a great promo single (reaching fans of other genres, performing accoustic / rock renditions while ramping up for the album, etc.). EOG would've smashed as a summer anthem, BTW would've easily hit #1 during Pride month as the 3rd single, and the success of singles 1-3 would've let her be more experimental -- something like a Scheisse / HML medley at the VMAs vs. the core of the album being largely forgotten (Judas, Scheisse, HML, Electric Chapel, Government Hooker). 1. Marry The Night (#1) - 01/2011 [Grammys = MTN] P1. You & I (#8) - 03/2011 (Promo) 2. Edge of Glory (#1) - 04/2011 3. Born This Way (#1) - 06/2011 4. Scheisse (#4) - 08/2011 [VMA medley of Scheisse / Heavy Metal Lover] 5. Heavy Metal Lover (#8) - 10/2011 MTN, BTW, and EOG + the general hype was a recipe that should've led to an inevitable domination of the Charts. It took work to roll out that era in a way where only one song went #1, and where fighting for the 4th single to go Top 10 had negative pushback that influenced her next era 2 years after. JustJames 964
Regardless of Hot 100 potential, additional singles would be beneficial to build awareness that there's even a Gaga album out. It's frustrating that she released a dance-heavy Pop album in 2020 w/ massive debuts in charts (#1 album, #5 lead, #1 2nd single), sales, streams ("she isn't a streaming artist!" is no longer an excuse), acclaim (highest MC score yet; 79), and US Radio peaks (#11/#10), yet has slid to a level of irrelevancy in 8 wks that all non-singles are being out-streamed daily by TF/M songs. Singles w/ decent playlisting and actual live promo could give the album a few songs with decent recurrent streams. Joanne became a moderate success solely off Million Reasons; Its 200k/day recurrent streams added / continues to add to its SPS. 200k/day streams exceeds any Chromatica non-single and those #s will continue to decline. If she can push ~3 songs that stabilize around there, it'll help the album's sales and certs long-term, and extend the era closer to the Tour. I think the best strategy would've been to tie promo around different events: "Fun Tonight" and "1000 Doves (Piano)" at the 2020 Grad Event, "Babylon" as a promo single for Pride month, etc. The chances to do so / that people will care is getting smaller, but: 1. July is 'Minority Mental Health Awareness Month;' release 'Babylon' as a promo single, then HL Remix, and MV ft. minority / LGBT dancers (or lyric video contest for minority artists). 2. Organize / host an event for Women's Equality Day in August w/ 'Free Woman' used in promo, followed by release as a single + performance. 3. Release "SFA" in the UK / EU in Sept in tandem with fashion campaign. 4. There are several ties to mental health in Oct; talk about how music has helped her pain and PTSD, offer/promote resources, and create a fund-raiser via BTWF through "911" (promo single with meme/viral contest prior to World Mental Health Day) and "Replay" (official single; mid-Oct). This type of promo would really give the album a narrative, her celebrity more substance, etc. 5. Relaunch the album "Chromatica by Enigma" w/ ~3 new songs led by "Enigma;" with more awareness, that song could propel both the show and her brand in a way that "Piece of Me" did for Britney. TL;DR: Releasing / promoting more singles in tandem with on-brand events or campaigns will help give the era purpose, while adding new + recurrent SPS to Chromatica regardless of Hot 100 positions. Even if they fail to Chart, if releasing and promoting Babylon, Free Woman, 911, and Replay will double their daily streams, the era will be much more of a success. 1) 07/24: Promo Single = "Babylon" + "Babylon (Haus Labs)" + Music Video ft. minority / LGBT dancers (OR lyric video contest for minority artists) 2) 08/14: Single #3 = "Free Woman" + Music Video 3) 09/09: UK/EU Single #4 = "Sine From Above" 4) 10/02: Promo Single = "911" 5) 10/16: Single #5 = "Replay" --- 6) 2021: "Chromatica by Enigma" EP + "Enigma" Single #6 / #1B
