Seems like such a long, long time for her to announce it so soon in mid-July. She’s not an insanely mainstream artist anymore where she depends on streams and such, so.... I wonder what this means in terms of collecting momentum. Maybe the label is really really gonna try and milk this one out. Surprise drops doesnt make the noise last more than a week. The tradicional digital (three month before release promo) is way more effective since you can create buzz around an album. and for a singer who have such a long career i don’t think she’s waiting for giant numbers, she has a consolidate fa-base who will support her regardless. Yeah, I guess you’re right. I’m from America where she’s not big at all, so my perspective of her is not the same as someone who lives somewhere like the UK or Australia where she IS massive. Her worldwide fanbase is solid, and being so late into her career I’m sure she’s not obsessing over large numbers. I loved Aphrodite but it aged terribly, then Kiss Me Once and Golden were kinda boring so now that she's going to work on a full disco album makes me actually excited to hear it. Her last commercial success was Aphrodite, which for her standards (besides ICGYOOMH) did pretty decent. So if she got somewhere near that its a win.
