This is maybe the best thing I've seen on GGD in a long time. & can be universally applied to other political situations that are irrelevant to this topic. I think the 2 state solution is the default choice because it's the easy way out. By picking no side, you don't necessarily hurt one side or the other. As much as I would like for a two state solution to come to fruition, I think the only way that it could work is if it were done vis-a-vis Palestine & Israel. Since at this point, it's very clear that if that were possible, it's certainly not happening any time soon. But I do think that the best thing that could be done is for the US & other countries to just stay out of it. Although, considering how much the US has provided aid to Israel, just leaving things alone after so many years of having our hands in the cookie jar would really just put Israel in a much more advantageous situation as compared to the Palestinian people. So, I'm not sure where that leads but that's the best that I can personally come up with.
Sofianer 1,741
And to think I was given 2 warning points because I gave my opinion on how cruel Israel is and was labelled as anti semitic..ffs. especially when speaking of israel it's obvious that i'm talking about the goverment not their ****ing ethnicity

If Russians buy land in America, does this mean they can take over the government? 2) One side died as a result of attacking another country, the other side died from self defense. 3) Palestine was part of the country Syria. Then Syria was divided into 4 parts and Europe gave what is now called Palestine to the Jews even though Syrians / Palestinians lived there. not this colonizer mindset smh... so just because the aboriginals didn't technically have a country in canada and america we are allowed to take their land, homes, and livelihood away from them. This whole "country" things was created by white colonizer men up until recently so don't try to make an argument with that.

Israel had been stealing land from Palestine for almost hundred years, part by part and has been killing muslim people for decades. I don’t care who those people are and what their religion is but what they are doing is wrong. The only people that took them in after WWII were Palestinians and in return they get their country taken away from them. I read all of your replies and your narrative that everyone is wrong but you are right is beyond. Free Palestine. this is literally the heart of the problem at the end of the day... zionists can twist facts and get into small details but at the end of the day Israel is an oppressor and everything else has been the reaction of that. imagine supporting and actively defending a colonial power

Why you put Palestinians in quotes? They don’t exist? Think if it would be other way around. Second, first zionists moved to Palestine in 1881, before Hitler was born; ”The First Aliyah” (1881‑1903) ”In the history of Jewish Palestine, the year 1881 inaugurated a new era. For many centuries, Jews from all over the diaspora had been “going up” to the “Land of Israel”, to live and die there, but the immigration of 1881 did not resemble any other. Inspired for the first time by an essentially modern national movement, this aliyah laid the foundations for the national rebirth of a Jewish society.” https://www.myjewishlearning.com/article/jewish-immigration-to-palestine/ the link is biased obviously, but just for the timeline. SpicyTomato 125
I don't think I'll be able to ever understand why online political people can look at Israel, the only democracy and truly free country in the Middle East, and call it an aggressor and "colonizer". Let's criticize Netanyahu, sure. But going into the fact that Israel exists in the first place is an extremely dangerous territory imo.

PERIOD.
