I think people are forgetting that the United States doesn't recognize Palestine's legitimacy, only Israels. When you view Google Maps in a certain country, you will see the countries that government recognizes, which is why in certain countries versions of Google Maps, you'll see places like Abkhazia or South Ossetia clearly labeled when these nations are not recognized by most UN members (similar to Palestine).

The problem doesn't lay in Google's hands, it lays in the hands of governments. I think everyone has good intentions when getting outraged about this but it seem many people are confused. Google never removed Palestine off Google Maps, but the truth behind it all is something we should be angry about. I wish every nation could have full recognition and the right to thrive and exist as itself but sadly in todays political global climate we have many issues like this

very good point. it causes a lot of confusion and conflict for Google to only be following guidelines in the sense of going along with whatever country they're in to decide which nation gets put on the map. it's so sad. i can't imagine how upsetting it would be to live in one of these unrecognized or partially unrecognized countries and know that in some places in the world, people open google maps or an encyclopedia or something and your nation just isn't there,

ohh i see, yeah that is definitely messed up then. i just have seen a lot of Americans and Canadians getting upset about this and assuming Google decided recently to just wipe Palestine off. I know the Gaza Strip and West Bank are defined in the area with dotted lines but Palestine has never been clearly shown on the Canadian/American google's versions of Maps, which is still upsetting.

There simply should be a 2 states solution. Israel's government right now is not the best, but at the same time Israel has agreed MULTIPLE times for a 2 states solution that was refused by Hamas which is a terrorist state that won't make the good decisions for the Palestinian people. They won't see any way out the conflict with Israel still here. They are against the very existence of Israel. 

the situation is sad because Palestinian are the first victims of Hamas, and Hamas does a great job at manipulating people into thinking Israel is the one responsible for this situation. Problem is that it's hard to get rid of Hamas knowing that democracy isn't working the best in Palestine...

Jews, by their numeral minority have always been great targets for fascist movements to gain power by pointing them at the roots of their countries problem

Either way you slice it, this is an issue that has a lot of nuance to it and the broad and general statements you are making is extremely egregious. At the end of the day, the United States needs to stop playing favorites with Israel and be a facilitator (IF ANYTHING AT ALL) between Israel & Palestine. The Palestinian people are human beings just as the Jewish people are. As a matter of foreign policy, what people do or what they believe does not determine how horrible we can be to them in return without any sort of justification. 

The Palestinians should be treated with human decency & Israel should be reprimanded as well as the US for their role is this. This does not mean being anti-Israel. It simply means that Israel doesn't get to be propped up by US assisted imperialism.

You wonder why nobody’s doing something to Palestine? Ask your leaders, they hates them and see them as aN annoying problem that needs to be solved, especially the governments from the Arabic/muslim countries, they only uses them to trash Israel/US but does nothing to help them.
