hopefully there isnt any ppl in this discussion blabbing about how asking google to put palestine on the map = anti-semitism. asking for palestinians to be treated like basic human beings isn't anti-semitic ppl.

also this article on the issue was a great read (which proposes a two-state solution) :

https://mondoweiss.net/2017/03/finders-keepers-there/

"One such frequently recurring theme when discussing the historic narratives of both peoples, is the question of “who was there first?”. The implication being, whoever was there first deserves ownership of the land. I have lost count of how many times I have encountered the argument that “The Jewish people have been in Palestine before the Muslims/Arabs,” or a variation thereof."

If the Jewish people were in Palestine before the Arabs, then the land belongs to them. Therefore the creation of Israel is justified.

"From my experience, whenever this argument is used, the automatic response of Palestinians is to say that their ancestors were there first. These ancestors being the Canaanites. The idea that Palestinians are the descendants of only one particular group in a region with mass migrations and dozens of different empires and peoples is not only ahistorical, but this line of thought indirectly legitimizes the original argument they are fighting against."

"Even if we follow the argument that Palestinians have only been there for 1300 years, does this suddenly legitimize the expulsion of hundreds of thousands? Of course not. There is no possible scenario where it is excusable to perpetrate war crimes against a people. Human rights apply to people universally, regardless of whether they have lived in an area for a year or ten thousand years."

"We must separate the political nationalist identity of people from their personhood as human beings, as nationalism is a relatively modern concept, especially in the Middle East... We must stop viewing Palestinian and Jewish histories as competing, mutually exclusive entities."

If the Jews wanted they could've lived in peace with the Muslims like everywhere else in the world. But no they wanted to rule and play kingdom. May I remind you of how many innocent lives the Israeli Government has taken? How many homes they've destroyed? How many women they have raped? I have receipts. Don't use this hundred year excuse for the crimes your army and your government has committed.

You're saying they aren't humans? They don't have families? Their lives don't matter? But then again I'm not surprised because it's coming from you

People aren't zooming? The details are gone even when you zoom in for some countries and they'll slowly update for every country.

I wasn’t able to find any screenshots showing that cities were being taken off and the thread last night was locked before I was able to see the ones you provided.

I did notice that there are many streets that are nameless and I’m wondering if that’s what people are interpreting as Google erasing the cities. If that’s the case then it can be easily explained as G choosing to leave streets blank because it knows it can’t provide accurate information anymore. I can’t imagine they have been able to get a hold of reliable and current cityscape info. Especially in a place as turbulent as Palestine that’s changing constantly because of war.

Bubblegum Bitch

Google is an American company, so they must follow the US's laws. And the State of Palestine is not recognized as a state by the United States, so I suppose, that is why Palestine's not on Google Maps.

omg no i am with the palestinian people with this (i'm a muslim from the west). this article was also written by a muslim i believe and acknowledges the war crimes against the palestinians. i would love for them to have their land back but i also know that this would never be possible and if we keep this deadlock innocent children and adults are being killed 24/7. personally i believe a one-state solution is the best idea to end this bloodshed if the two people can coexist. there needs to be a bipartial party that mediates a solution between these 2 people because the current situation is just horrible.

i am muslim and pro-palestine tho... did you even read the entire thing or just read the first paragraph (the premise) and just say that. its quite privileged for us as outsiders to preach anything but coexistence between the two because look at what that has done for the past several decades. we know humans can coexist as seen in the west and elsewhere and we know that israel would never just hand over the land to palestinians so do you just want the bloodshed to continue because thats an irrational emotion-driven mindset.

That is the main problem. Jews don't want to live with Muslims.

yes i agree, from what i've seen some jews are okay with coexisting but obviously zionists believe its their land. but i think at this point its literally impossible for palestine to get the entire region and its getting even worse with the israeli govt. planning to annex the palestinian settlements. i just hope some international body steps up and actually solves this problem unlike what britian/american did in creating this mess in the first place.

I 100% agree. I'm not trying to offend any jew/ Israeli monster on this site. But truth can't be erased. I just hope the people get their rights back. And they are safe

How can you post the first thing in a thread and then agreeing with a post accusing Jews not wanting to live with Muslims? Maybe look up how Jews are doing in Muslim countries. Like there are two sides of it.
