Yes? As far as I know most of her albums have been very well received except for ARTPOP so I don’t get your point.

Her albums are widely known within the fanbase as never actually hitting "critical acclaim".

Just look at the Metacritic scores. Isn't Chromatica the first one that even hit 80?

My original point was not specifically shading Madonna, especially because I don't even know what her tour looked like, but that in general, critics (people who have their own personal tastes) shouldn't be used to make a point because everyone's taste is subjective.

Critical acclaim does not equal facts.

Yes, but if an album is acclaimed it means a lot people liked it. Therefore, people should stop saying x album was a mistake or a sign that such artist should stop or whatever just because you didn’t like it (which is what I was trying to say to the person I originally quoted).

No it doesn't lol

It means that the critics who make up what the general public uses to determine "acclaim", means that those people like it.

Not people en masse.

There are hundreds of critically acclaimed albums that didn't sell well or get streamed.

Lol if an album was critically acclaimed I wouldn’t think “I bet no one liked this”. No, if an album is acclaimed it means many people liked it, how is what I’m saying not making sense? I was in no way referring to commercial success I have absolutely 0 clue where you got that from what I said.

If you binge watch their videos like me, you will notice Katya does lots of Gaga references.

Did anyone buy their book?  I'm waiting for mine to arrive, I purchased to do their first book livecast that they did.

When someone says Madonna isn’t a talented musician (bc musician is more than being a vocalist) that’s when I know they don’t know her music.

She can't even read sheet music :yennefer:

That’s exactly the effect Trixie wants to achieve lol. It’s not meant to be girly and natural, she’s a drag queen.

She's not a vocalist, she doesn’t play any instruments to a high level, her song writing isn't that spectacular...

Madonna (as a whole artist) isn't that talented. She's great at being bold, fierce, has a "no fcks given" attitude, and being controversial. She's sold millions of records, and one of the biggest icons ever. But her vocals, even at peak, was always weak. She doesn't write all her music, she's not a producer, she plays the guitar but not amazingly well...

Like, if you were to ask me to give examples on talented musicians, I'd say these artists:

Whitney Houston (power house vocalist)

Mariah Carey (power house vocalist)

Lady Gaga (power house vocalist, excellent songwriter, producer, classically trained pianist/vocalist...)

Beyonce (vocalist)

... and others.

Madonna is not a talented musician, however, that does not take away from her being an icon and a boss ass bitch. She's average at best.

Imagine thinking Gaga is an excellent songwriter.. :billie:

I agree with rest you said about gaga but lets not be delusional. Her and Madonnas lyrics are on par..
