Why can Beyonce not promote an album but Gaga "has to?"

I am wondering because Beyonce obviously promotes her albums, but not in the conventional way. She doesn't do interviews and she doesn't really appear to perform on TV shows. She does her tours and does some things here and there but the fans are satisfied with her staying out of the spotlight ,and it seriously adds to her intrigue and mystery (and works well).

I think the same can be said about Gaga at this point. You see Katy Perry desperately releasing music videos and promo for her new material through Zoom calls, and it is flopping tremendously. Gaga released her album and is doing no promo at all. I don't necessarily see an issue with it.

Why is Beyonce supposed to be able to have minimal promo but we are not satisfied when Gaga has minimal promo? Keep in mind, Beyonce's songs do not chart well anymore, but they have surpassed the point where she really needs to care about the Billboard Hot 100 (which most people shouldn't care about, anyway). Gaga is still topping the charts. I feel like there is a different standard. Why?

Gaga has always been about giving an era to go with an album. It has nothing to do with other artists. It's simply about giving fans content

well beyonce achieved an icon level on her career, her releases and marketing strategies are not the same anymore, she always tried to stood from the rest and make something different with her brand

gaga always does the same or similar album release plan imo, thats why she "has" to promote it more, which is not bad in ant way tho

I think a lot of this fan base is still stuck in 2009 and hasn’t realized Gaga doesn’t need to prove herself anymore. Even the artists people here compare her to are way below her, she’s more comparable to Beyoncé than Dua. She’s just at a different stage of her career now and people don’t want to accept that

In this day and age, no artist needs to do anymore promo than a simple Instagram post. Anything more isn’t necessary. 
If music is gonna stick and be successful, it’ll do it without promo, cause no one except for stans care about that stuff anymore.

I don't even compare it to success. 

Gaga has never just been about music. In the earlier days, about 50% of the "package" was her crazy fashion. And then you had her live performances which often breathed new life into a song and had great theatrical stage set ups. 

And then you'd have her interviews which is how majority of us fell in love with her personality and who she was as a person. 

Much of that has tapered off over the years. She's quite obviously no longer as concerned as much about fashion. We had the Joanne era which wasn't as stimulating visually. And then we had ASIB where she repeated the same thing over and over in interviews.

Honestly Beyoncé is not just a pop star anymore. She have too much power and is slowly achieving god like status. All her effort goes into the 1st impression of her eras and from there, the ripple effect do the rest.
