Xoxo Adriana 15,040 Posted July 19, 2020 Share Posted July 19, 2020 for those who don’t know, here in Melbourne, Australia we are going through a proper second wave of covid cases followed by a stage 3 lockdown that allows people to only leave their homes for work/essential shopping purposes only. the cases here are rising higher than they were in March/April and this is not discussed anywhere outside of Australia. the funniest part - every other australian state is coping well! the second highest state is sydney with only 15 new infections, while Melbourne faces a dramatic 300+ cases daily. the government today has deemed masks MANDATORY when leaving home, a fine of $200 will be given to those caught not wearing masks...FINALLY! rumour has it we may even enter a “stage 4 lockdown” which will mean nobody will be allowed to leave their homes under ANY circumstances, meaning everything is shut down. however, one Melbourne MMA fighter has expressed his stupidity and selfishness on twitter, announcing that he will not be following this new law as it’s damaging to his “freedom”: he’s even going as far as saying the entire pandemic is a “hoax”: Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The idea that a mask mandate during a pandemic is an assault on your freedom. Imagine being that dumb That same logic can be applied to drunk driving laws, speed limits, laws against shooting straight up into the air or throwing flaming knives into a crowd. Honestly. Some choices become law because common sense should guide one set of choices. Don't want to wear a mask? Stay home and order food and items from home. No one wants to lose their rights, but no one wants to lose their lives either. Protect the right to stay alive. Stand in the light, cast your shadow.
