Animal Claws 18,665
Overall Score: 8,243 Highest Score: 11 @HausOfMark @MANiCURE 6 @Cello @2School4Cool @DeluluSwine @ferretti @ninjaponta Lowest Score: 0 @Venus Rose COMMENTS Spoiler 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗲 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗶𝗲 - I hate that I have to say this, but Fun Tonight is Gaga’s low point on this album. Brilliant chorus, but features extremely basic melodies and production. It sounds like something any lesser girl could have released. Again, production is what makes this song sound like a Kygo reject from a few years back. 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀𝗴𝘂𝘆 - Again, lyrically, a gem. But I wish the production was different... Just like the song, I can't seem to have Fun Tonight while listening to it 💀 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝗚𝘂𝗿𝗹𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗴𝗲 - it’s cute 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘁 - Didn't care for FT when it dropped, however it improves upon repeated listens. After the 1-2-3 punch of A/SL/ROM, FW and FT can seem to sap the energy a little (sequencing issue again) but on its own the song is decent. Also love how she reprised her TF singing voice for this, I had missed her 'soft' singing style 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗶𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗘 6 - Best song of the album. I can totally relate to it. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀 - A tragic song in a beautiful way. An amazing pre-chorus and the “oh oh oh oh”s in the chorus are so infectious. A very well written and effective song. 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗚𝗮𝘆 - Better than I expected 𝗙𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆𝗚𝗮 - so ****ing good, there’s actually some emotion in this one lol 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲 - Great contrast from the past 3 songs, very good transitioner onto the next portion of the album. 𝗕𝗷𝗮𝗳 - This song is slowly growing on me... but it's going to be very slow. It's just *so* cheesy. I think I don't like it in the same way that I'm not a fan of Gypsy. I'm ok with the track until we hit the drop in the second chorus, which I don't get at all. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗣 - Great lyrics but basic production. Still a great song 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻 - cute song, that's all 𝗕𝗔𝗕𝗕𝗬𝗟𝗢𝗡 - This track is beyond beautiful. It's written straight from Gaga's heart, and it shows. It's one of my favorites from her. The production is simplistic, and the pre-chorus and chorus have excellent melodies. 𝗖𝗷𝗗𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗻 - I did not expect this song to be a downer - especially not such an inspiring downer. Goes to show you can't judge off a title. My sister calls this a free therapy session and I agree. It's like a pep talk to yourself in a way and it's things I need to hear. 𝗕𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗮 - I really see what everybody was talking about with this one- it's sad. But the beat is so fun!! The lyrics are really good. Those vocals! My, God! I'm feeling the way I'm feeling, I'm feeling with you! 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮 - Definitely a grower. It used to be my least favorite from the first play but it is now one of the most 'emotional' to me. Definitely the most personal one. I feel her pain in this one ! The 'oh oh oh oh' part is a great throwback to her TF / TFM time when RedOne used to produce her hits. It could work as a single. 𝗙𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗞1991 - A sad dance track with amazing vocals. I can feel the emotion coming through. Another track with a buildup to no chorus tho. 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 - Lowkey boring ngl 𝗬𝘅𝗶𝗹𝗼𝗻 - The tripleted melody of the chorus is amazing. Unfortunately, that's the only amazing aspect of the song. It's a cute song, but kind of unimpressive when it comes to verses and bridge. 𝗠 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲 - One of my favorites. I love the lyrical content of the song, and the melody is infectuous. It's one of the "slower" songs on the album, which I appreciate. It's a perfect balance of being a total bop, but also being a song that you can cry to. The strings are great too. 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝘆 - This song lost me the more I listened to it. The verses are not special, the pre-chorus is meh. And then the buildup comes, all for nothing. If there's something I hate more than just being plain bad it's being teased and then disappointed. There's no redeeming factor to Fun Tonight other than that it helps the album flow nicely. 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗸𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗻 - I want to hug Gaga, everytime I listen to it. 𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗣𝗢𝗣𝗦𝗬𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗬 - Cute bop! 2𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹4𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗹 - My favorite song on the album, it’s so raw lyrically, it’s so emotional, and it’s one of the best melodies she’s ever written. Completely gorgeous, a masterpiece. 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗔𝘀𝘁 - say what you want this is about Gaga. And once you see this song from her perspective between a human being and a star, you realise this is a gem. 𝗵𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗼𝗳𝗰𝘆 - I love when she comes in with those clear vocals like in TEOG. The hooks are incredible. The lyrics are great. Such a sad bop. This is one of my faves. 𝗡𝗼𝗶𝗿 - Probably one of the weaker tracks on the album for me personally, still I think it deserves its place on the album. Cute, but that's about it. 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗟𝘂𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿 - This song is about funyuns 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲 - At first I hated it cuz her saying "Fun Tonight" with that fun beat was jarring. BUT SUCH A GROWER. 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗧𝘄𝘂𝗻𝗸 - Initial thought: Ooh Fun tonight?! Yaass I'm ready for some fun! Reality: Oh wait... nope nevermind I'm not having fun tonight... Ouch my feelings... I need a hug. 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗻𝘆𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗲 - Kinda boring. I don't have much else to say about it tbh. 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 - Instrumental could be better. Other than that it is perfect. 𝗔𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗼 - Same as free woman. Doesn’t have a lot of depth even though the lyrics are meaningful. The melody is basic. 𝗗𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗛𝗼𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗿 - My least fave, I expect to happen someting after the build-up/pre-chorus but nothing happens. 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗱 - Another bore and sounds too much like the previous track. 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲 - The duality of - Having the time of your life >< I'm not having fun tonight is... actually sad. That's maybe what happened inside your mind in the middle of a great night out. 𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶 - This song makes me dance and cry and just LIVE. I get emotions from similar to Edge of Glory and when I finally hear Gaga sing this on the piano I just know I WILL DIE. This is the secret big hit of the album and deserves to live forever. Just wait to hear it on the piano for anyone unsure. 𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗶 - A grower. It’s got Gypsy & TEOG vibes af. This song doesn't scream Gaga but it’s sooo good. Lyrically, it’s probably one of the saddest songs on the album. 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗼 - I think this is my least favorite on the album. I'm not really sure why. 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁 - I cried the first time I listened to it. 𝗱𝗮𝗱𝗿𝘂 - It misses a climax, the build up leads to nowhere, love the lyrics tho 𝘃𝗲𝗲𝗲𝗻08 - Great song to sing a long to. Love the beat drop. 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗘𝘆𝗲𝘀𝘀 - The first listen I was confused and didn't know how to feel about it but now I really love it. I feel like it begins the theme of "dancing through the pain" by contrasting upbeat fun music with sad and emotional lyrics which we don't get to hear in a lot of mainstream music. My favorite part lyrically/musically is "Maybe it's time for us to say goodbye cuz..." 𝗟𝗼𝗲𝗽𝗽𝗸𝗲 - This was the biggest grower from the album. When I first heard it, it completely flew over my head and I felt like the song didn't even have a chorus. After repeated listens, the chorus is actually quite big and one of the biggest serves vocally. 𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 - her worst song ever 𝗢𝗚 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻 - The most basic pop song on the album, my least favorite, weird vocals, a message that isn't sympathetic given that it's coming from a multimillionaire living in a mansion in Malibu. Resembles a Hannah Montana song. 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 - Some parts are awful indeed 𝗵𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻𝘁 - I love it. Totally could fit with BTW 𝗛𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗢𝗳𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘄 - The buildup of the first chorus is such a big let down, but it ends well and on a danceable note. 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻 - Still not into it, it's my least favorite, it feels too flat and generic to me 𝗟𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗚𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 - The lyrics, the production, she did what? THAT 𝘀𝗻𝗸𝘀𝗾 - dated production but the soaring vocals save it. 𝗣𝗼𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘁 - My #9 via BiasSorter Beautiful lyrics, I feel like this song is the child of Hair and unreleased Earthquake, also TEOG's cousin. I don't listen to it too much, as it just doesn't fit the moment in life I'm in. I really like it though 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗶 - I love the build up, and her vocals + echo during the pre-chorus reminds me of TEOG so much it's so gorgeous when the drop comes (what drop? :awkney:) it's beautiful again, but a bit underwhelming. Would've loved it to be harder. BUT I also love the fact that the lyric "I'm not having Fun Tonight" is represented sonically so that's a way she scores points on this one. The Oh-oh-oh-oh vocals though.. Good song, but could've been better. 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 - Respect the message but the chorus is flat. 𝗝𝗚𝗗 - It's a cute song, but underwhelming. 𝗜𝗺𝗻𝗼𝘁𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗲10 - Like the lyrics. Love the references to paparazzi and fame. It is a great track as it plays on the miscommunication between friends, partners and so forth -- when someone is down and others are not paying attention or being attentive to the person who is hurting. It's kind of a melancholic dance tune, no? 𝗗𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹 - Sounds very The Fame. Love it! 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗳𝗮𝗻𝗶 - Even though something on its verses turns me off, the power of the lyricisms on this one is undeniable, one of her bests songwriting. 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 - I love the chorus but the verse is so cheesy. Sounds like a Disney princess song at times. 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗺𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 - One of my favourite choruses in the album but sometimes the lyrics were kind of tacky 𝗘𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗻 - The chorus melody is wonderful, the lyrics are meaningful and self-referential (MetaGa is back) I'm not a fan of the “oh oh oh oh” part though, but the last powerful chorus save the song. 𝗽𝘂𝗴𝘀𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗱𝗿𝘂𝗴𝘀 - amazing verses 𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗸𝗼𝗸𝗼 - The chorus melody is fantastic, and the lyrics are great. The production is a little laid back, and the last drop doesn't do much for me. 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮 - A really great pop song with a really fresh production and really beautiful light vocals. Really great twist between the title and the actual meaning of the song aswell. 𝗚𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻𝘀 - this song seriously grew on me, but im still not the biggest fan of it. 𝗜𝘃𝘆 - Love it! It's so emotional to me. Also like the way the music buildup stops, to echo what she's saying with "I'm not having fun" 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗻 - This song is so underrated. The lyrics hit home for me. I hope she performs it as a piano ballad at some point. 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗺 𝗘𝗵 - I love the instrumental a lot 𝗢𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 - Such a grower! Strong lyrics and the pre-chorus melody is amazing. She should have added a drop after the first chorus because the buildup goes nowhere. Love the last 30 seconds of the song though.
